I severed in the US Air Force in the 1970's in Europe and I salute the Unknowns of all wars who defended their countries and allies and who, through the fortunes of war became unknowns on their deaths. I salute them all and hope for a future where we will have to build no further monuments to our glorious dead. In all honor and respect I salute again our British allies.

I am proud to have served, 10yrs, in HM Royal Marines Band. I never knew this story and it tears at one's heart; the footage is superb and the playing simply exquisite. Bravo! However, I often wonder what these brave men, and women, who fought for our freedom in two World Wars would make of today's woke, 'me-me-me' generation; and, perhaps, somebody should send this to Monsieur Macron as a simple reminder of past events.

I've seen this before and read about it but this really brings it home to you. It's not just an unknown soldier it's about all our armed forces from wherever you come from and never return home. It's respect for those that have given the one thing we live for and that is life. These men deserve our respect whatever country they came from. X

I knew of the Unknown Warrior's story. A common soldier now resting among Kings. A man who not only gave his life, but his identity for his King and his country. Truly, it is a fitting resting place for such a soldier. May his God bless him and give peace to his spirit and to all who gave all. This video brought a tear to this old ex-soldier.

Very respectful, well documented, well preserved. I’m not from England, but truly believe this is something that should be reminded every year and children know about the sacrifice their ancestors made for them. I’m from Washington State and could not find one film showing how we came to have our Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The United States followed Great Britain and France and joined in a honoring the fallen and lost. A Sgt. Edward Younger, (well decorated) chose from four caskets, one that would become The Unknown Soldier. He sent the casket back in March of 1921 and on 11 November 1921 at 11:11 a.m. on Armistice Day, President Warren G. Harding, Vice President Calvin O. Coolidge, and Chief Justice William H. Taft accompanied the casket to Arlington National Cemetery. They presented the Medal of Honor and Distinguished Service Cross to the deceased before interment. I copied paste that bit. They have guards at the tomb 24/7 regardless of the weather. I don’t know if they have a television cam or not. Every 11 November, the President presents a wreath. I don’t remember if I’ve been there with a high school band, we were on a short lease. There’s some things I know about our memorial. I think yours is better, you have tangible, meaning a film. To me that mean more than a snap shot here or there. Thank you for sharing. Hello from Washington State.
