Mclaren have a replacement for Oscar in the wings Bortoleto who is also a special talent.

After Ayrton's death back in 1994 I never had a favourite pilot, not even Schumi or Lewis (for me is an average lucky driver, being in the right place the right time having the record of wins, poles and champs effotessly) till today. I watched F1 all these years with no interest, not counting the days for the next GP especially after 2000 when we knew the champion before the 1st GP of the year. I liked Kimi, Fernando, Seb and Max (at the begging of his career) but I cannot "compare" (compare is a wrong word. You cannot compare pilots of different eras. Of the same decade at most) them with pilots of the past. Anyway Oscar shows maturity, takes calculated risks, is aggressive when needed, and have the prerequisites for a future champion.

It's incredible to think that back when the alpine/mclaren tussle over Piastri was happening, there was every reason to think he was moving to a worse team. Alpine was still crap, but McLaren was even crapper. At the start of his first season, the McLaren car was back-of-the-field bad, they had brake problems they didn't understand and the car was an absolute dog. Somehow, Piastri managed to keep his good luck going, joining right before McLaren ended their decade-long run of being complete shit. Now he's in the fastest car on the grid, pushing Lando much harder than anyone would reasonably expect. Just incredible timing for an incredible driver. Good luck is always a part of success, and he seems to have it.
