I think what many fans mean is that they basically knew from the beginning Shea would go on to win. People had been saying she was robbed and asking her to come back for years. Also, there were a lot of queens who had not done very well the first time, so it was like they didn't even try to make it a fair competition. Oh, and Blair was carried.

I LOVE season 9 too. I think the judging was fair for the most part. I'd just give Trinity the win for her Sister Mary role instead of Sasha and Shea. Also, I think Nina Bo'nina Brown should have been in the top instead of Peppermint for the princess challenge; and Cucu did better than Shea in the cheerleading challenge. But I think it's one of the few fair seasons we've had.

About India's verse and the line "I sent that Britney back", I think that's the one reason she deserves to be in the bottom. It was so random, and didn't match the challenge at all. It was just kinda like "I really like this celebrity oh and btw I eliminated Derrick... Also I still like this celebrity" I was just like what? I think the LaLaPaRUza it’s definitely what this season is missing. We would have gotten more Derrick content and I think everyone would have been happier lmao. Also, the reason I don’t like this season is because it’s unbearably short and with the LSA format, it hinders the queens from getting more recognition and chances to be in the top (and those forced “everyone is in the bottom” final episodes… Girl…) All in all, I’m okay with Shea winning. 🤓

What I feel is that Shea was still a fresh threat on the show, so basically when she accepted the invitation the production kind of gave up and also the rest of the cast wasn't SUPER confident on themselves they would beat Shea, JuJubee, Cracker and Alexis. Both these factors flattened out the season: Shea is doing a winning lap (and yes, getting her stumbles because, guess what? She's a human being), JuJubee is ready for another finale (at least this time she would be filmed being crowned, so it was fun to our beloved Airline), Cracker is... Cracker (I'm sorry, I can't have sympathy for her as an artist, but she does her craft really well and deserved the top placements and getting to the finale) and Alexis Mateo was a victim of robbery followed by assassination on an evil plot. The other girls aren't on their TOP TIER S CLASS VERY BEST and the production themselves weren't really caring about them. So as Detox would say: deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee FLAT.

I could see you doing DR Holland S1 & DR España S1. You could really see production’s hand in how things played out during those seasons (Holland, specifically). Both winners deserved to win, don’t get me wrong, but production CLEARLY showed their hand in how it all played out. While you’re at it, let’s dissect DR Italia S1 since S2 is now in production (“allegedly” 🤭). THAT season was a rollercoaster ride in & of itself. I honestly saw a different winner (Farida Kant) for that season instead of the actual winner (Elecktra Bionic). I want to know what YOU think, Derek!! AS5 is really low on my list (almost last). I feel like with the AS series you can almost tell who production is favoring by how the challenges & twists play out during the season. I knew Chad would win AS1 & Alaska AS2. AS3 became a free for all after the CLEAR frontrunner ( BenDeLaCreme) removed herself from the competition. The jury twist screwed Shangela (next in line) in the end, IMO. AS4 is a tough one for me to talk about as I saw a LOT of riggory in that season as well as AS5 & AS6. That’s not to take away from the queens’ talent but production has a clear vision of who they want to elevate when doing an All Stars season. I honestly can’t wait to hear your thoughts about AS7 when it’s over.

I agree wholeheartedly about how great Mayhem's performance was in SheMZ! However, I would have put Blair safe and Alexis and India in the bottom, with India getting eliminated, despite Alexis' conflict with Cracker...unless the producers REALLY wanted to spice things up and give Cracker & Shea villain edits for eliminating Alexis. I also think that if India was brought back for the backyard ball, she would be placed in the bottom with Alexis (it wasn't just about the outfits, it was about being funny) and she'd go home right away.

this isn't necessarily a request for you to do the season (tho the question could arguably be its own video), but i just finished rewatching s8 with 2 friends who never watched it, and i've been taking these opportunities to come up with my own hypothetical seasons with "fairer" judging, but for season 8, it really felt like most of the judging was accurate and fair? i only changed about 2-3 placements + changed the double sashay to a regular single sashay, but otherwise the track records and elimination order p much stayed the same. so i guess my question is, would you consider season 8 to be one of the seasons with the fairest judging? and if not, what seasons would you say had the fairest judging overall?
