This documentary which aired on TV1 was so compelling, heart wrenching, informative, and beyond sad to me; especially to hear Emmett's mother, Ms. Mamie Till-Mobley describe how her son looked after this vicious murder...I actually cried out loud. As a parent, can you imagine having to see your child like this? The men who did this were vicious, heartless, & vile.

I wish I could hug Emmet. Just the fact that he died in pain and knowing that the people who ended his life hated him. Imagine the last thing you feel is the hatred of others. That’s awful. No one deserves that. And there’s still a lot of work to do yet. But she is an incredibly strong soul. She continued to fight for her son even after he was gone. That is strength. No parent should have to experience this type of EVIL. She strong, she hurt, she's destroyed, she's everything we would never ever could imagine not in a million years. I knew the moment she saw the coffin would be the moment she cried. Our brains can be deceptive, it's a defense mechanism. Her brain was finding ways to tell her it's not real, there's a chance this is all just a mistake, Bobo is gonna walk off that train. As soon as she saw the coffin, her brain wasn't able to defend her anymore, had to surrender to reality. Too many tears watching this show.

I am born and raised in the south, we have come a long way since those dark dark days, but still have so much more ways to go sadly. That was a child they kidnapped, tortured, and murdered. The Federal Government was supposed to order a federal trial for such a case, States even in those days had no authority in such a heinous case, also considering the victim was from another state. The justice system both federal and state also failed Till and his family

This is why we must continue to educate our kids on our history so they can be prepared as much as possible because it could save their lives. People saying we need to stop bringing this up in order to move forward but know people need to quit teaching their kids how to be racist and thinking they are superior over another race. My kids are 8 and 10 and I am teaching them and telling them the stories so they can know and be able to use discernment if they ever encounter racism or similiar because it still exists today. I wish Mrs.Mamie had taken the time to explain to Emmitt about racism long before he begged to go on that trip to Mississippi and maybe even escorted him down there a few times to visit to let him see and school him on it before she let him go alone. I am not blaming her but just wishful thinking of how this maybe could have been avoided.RIP Mrs Mamie and Emmitt Till We love ya'll.

This is one delicate story that breaks every part of me down. Hearing Mrs. Mamie(may she continue to rest in the arms of our Savior) describe the nature of the body of her deceased son, feels as though it had just happened in a very present time. Emmitt, was obviously raised very well and he meant no harm, but because of it they tortured and murdered him and tried to cover up their evil acts. I truly believe that God served a hand at exposing the ugliness of what mankind has done and by his word vengeance is the Lord's. Rest Emmitt. X

It's absolutely Discpicable that Many of "Our Men"....Continue to pass over "Our Women " for these unsettling Creatures! Even in the end Poiter himself did! I'm NOT afraid of saying it! It's the Truth! Black one Day when it Suits you. .. and White the next so that you can feel "Included "!

I have to comment on the fact that President Eisenhower may get a public monument in his honor. He ignored Mrs. Mamie Till-Mobley's request to look into the murder of her son Emmett Till. This was in 1955. This was an insult on President Eisenhower's part to the entire country. I am not in favor of giving President Eisenhower any tribute.

@Angel Johnson No they were not. They held the office of the President of the U.S. later on. President Eisenhower was the President at the time that Emmett was murdered.

@Angel Johnson Yes Angela he turned his back on Ms. Mamie. People who do evil will never have it good at the end. Ms. Mamie never gave up and made sure that Emmett's story will live on. Take care.

I’m in my 40’s and to this very day, I cannot and Will not look at Emmitt Till’s mutilated body. I immediately look away anytime the mental threat of me seeing it is posed. I can say with confidence that I would still be in an insane asylum or dead by suicide had this happened to anyone I loved let alone my own seed. I just couldn’t live with that lasting image seared in my brain and that experience resonating through the walls of my body. No way a human being should ever have to be subjected to this type of psychological and emotional torture seeing their loved one in such a gruesome state. I wouldn’t even want to see an animal in that state let alone a precious human being. Such a powerful and mightily woman to have endure decades of such horrific pain.

My heart aches for her having to see what happened to her son. What a brave and amazing woman! I believe in justice in the afterlife for those men, and the woman, for what they did.

The accuser who lied and the ones who killed this boy did not get justice for it down here but I’m sure God took care of what happened to Emmett Till. Sad, horrifying to see this. From the very first time when they found til now, I am disgusted with those killers. And the woman lied on him 😡

My heart will forever be touched by this strong mother's endurance. This is so horrific and unfortunate. The history of African Americans and whites has been a constant reminder of how much life has not changed. As a mother of 2 young African American boys my self I can not imagine the pain that this mother has endured. RIP😇
