The story is much deeper. They had an opportunity to sign with universal records and Tpain told them not to and to sign with nappy boy entertainment and they did and he never came back after signing them. You have to see the documentary to get the whole picture.

One of the group members Ant_Banks sold their song (robbery) to Khia (my neck my back).. he got kicked from the group and it was a downhill spiral after that in addition to t-pain's brother got into a motorcycle accident.. t-pain stole auto tune from Zapp and Roger whom my dad would play while we were doing work at his dad's house
