The US Needs a Wake Up Call on Putin - Victor Rud

Victor Rud chairs the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian American Bar Association and has been a Sr. Advisor to the Centre for Eastern European Democracy. He was counsel to the US Public Member to the Helsinki Accords Review Conference in Madrid. He is an honors graduate of Harvard College and Duke Law School. Victor has spoken before the UN and at West Point and writes for numerous publications including the Kyiv Post on issues affecting U.S./Russia/Ukraine Relations. Tody we talk about the typical US mindset that has resulted in failed foreign policy with Russia and why we have been historically wrong on Putin. The US needs a wake up call before we repeat the same mistakes again that will result in tragedy for Ukraine and indeed the rest of the free world. Jake Sullivan thinks he can microadminister the entire U.S. economy with "smart" industrial policy. Why should we be surprised that he thinks he can micromanage a war? One gets the feeling that he is trying to keep the war small, not because he actually fears escalation per se, but because he just wants to make sure he is in control. Jake Sullivan should be a corporate bean counter, not a war planner.
