Also, when he comes around, he won't be a hypocrite on this issue anymore, but at the moment he is.

Knowing the finale... ouch my Defan heart

i will forever appreciate the transparency in kai going "i'm not a good person, i own that" and that basically being his vibe even before this episode. like, aside from the really flimsy "luke's half in him so kai's kinda good-ish" thing, kai's always just been bad for bad's sake. jacked up background that assists in the grand scheme of things? sure. but he's long since gotten past the point of "i'm bad for a reason" and treaded into "bad bc its fun & why not?" territory, and that's refreshing on a show where everyone's got a "why" and a usually last minute semi redemptive arc or sign of humanity. it should be really bland and 2 dimensional, but kai managed to be a well written and well acted bad guy imo. so yayyy for his last minute return lol
