What I love about Kai as a villain is that he's purely evil, not a lot of villain do evil like him there's always one soft spot of humanity in them but of course the reason for that because he's a sociopath he has no remorse so when he helps people is more cuz he's manipulative. His humor brought the show. I don't like all the bad things he did but it is what makes him a great villain he has no remorse for all of that he's just purely evil and hotness is a big bonus.

I will say that it was brilliant tying the 100 witches that were burned into the hellfire story line because that makes all the more sense why Bonnie was able to channel them in the first place. They were Bennett witches all along. It was a nice little nugget that fit right into place and ultimately helped Bonnie win The Vampire Diaries: Survivor

I remember I had very ambivalent feelings when Kai appeared, because I disliked what he did so much (so I was like 'oh oh no') but I also love him as a character so much, how dark he is and still always comes off so casual and lighthearted in the most inappropriate times but in a interesting way (so I was like yay! Kai) 😅😆 I mean in the end is Kai one of the reasons why season 6 is such a great season and also part of the big top 3 tvd villains of team K.

Kai Hype explained: The thing is that the last really good villain what Silas-before they turned him into humanity-free Stefan 2.0 (or 1.0 since he's technically older🤔)-and at the time of airing, almost 2 years had passed at that point. On the flipside, the storylines, twists, and villains of The Originals (at the time) far surpassed TVD to the point that viewers (old and new) would prefer to just watch TO. Then the CW had the audacity to put The Originals at the 9pm EST Thursday block, which was right after the Vampire Diaries slogfest (which aired at 8pm EST), in an attempt to keep the viewers watching both shows. This actually hurt TO's ratings😂. Also, everyone was getting redeemed like villains out of a Disney live-action remake😑. So Kai's unique blend of unrepentant homicidal ASPD and bubbly charismatic snark was a breath of fresh air. Then the next major villains, the Heretics, turned out to be boring by comparison (no offense to Valarie, Nora, or Marie-Louise). So our hypes up perceptions of Kai just stood around even longer. Also, yes some people also just like Chris Wood because he's conventionally handsome. Not that I blame them🤣.

KAI!! edit: yes, kai is attractive, but that's not why I appreciate the villain he is. so much about him is so much of what he did held lasting consequences (what happened to the gemini coven, to jo, to Elena) but also the fact he was 'pure evil' to his end and wasn't redeemed, which shows, even TVD, does to a lot of their villains/'big bads' when it's time to wrap up their arcs. he also was tied in with really cool arcs, like the prison world(s) (the start of the iconic bamon relationship) and siphons. he didn't need to be as powerful as the originals to be a really cool villain :) I also liked that the temporary sliver of redemption kai had was the fact that he merged with Luke, a sibling he desperately wanted to kill, and not at all on his own account. him siphoning the huge traveler spell that banned magic and the werewolf bite was also really cool.

I think the reason why I love Kai is because very often, villains on tv shows end up getting redemption and therefore become “softer. I hate that. I love villains that are unapologetically evil and fuck shit up. The worst thing Klaus ever did on this show was kill Aunt Jenna. Meanwhile Kai killed Jo, put Elena in a coma indefinitely and massacred the Gemini coven. I still love Klaus way more cause of the added depth to him, but you can’t deny Kai was wayyyy more villainous.

Klaus also slaughtered all of his hybrids, Jules, Downed Tyler's mom in a wishing well, tested his hybrid breeding by killing Ray Sutton & all of the werewolves in the woods, and he also gave us a first hand look at THA RIPPA. Kai killing Jo and the twins was some wild shit, but really without Lilly (and Nina leaving the show) The Elena coma thing never happens. I do like Villain's who don't get redeemed tho

Getting to Elena in time and making sure she was safe was the first thing on his mind and his priority, it’s why he was rushing in the first place. He heard Bonnie crying as well as him knowing what was Stefan’s intention going to the house so he immediately thought that Stefan might have succeeded and assumed the worse. He asked what was wrong with Bonnie after, at this point it seems like nitpicking to find a complaint about Damon.

@@skylar6709 I agree with you on here and I'm not a big Damon fan. Bonnie would have call crying if it was Elena. So logic for me. But I do find Damon's reaction overall emotionless. Not blaming Damon really, mostly the writing. Enzo and Damon weren't friends anymore and had lots of problems and kinda enemy vibes, frenemy at the best. But they shared a special bond during years and I know deep down Damon would have cherish that in his heart. So he would have shown more emotions in my opinion when he learned about Enzo's death.
