An explanation could be that the melody/chords/rhythm have been maybe stolen from a different song, but I don't know whether that's the case. I thought the same about the BBC version of Brake Lights. Both songs sound very mainstream. So mainstream that I wonder whether I have heard something like that before. So another reason could be that it sounds too mainstream for a Verve album, it's not really the genre of The Verve.

By the way, there's another slightly different version of Oh Sister on KZbin, which is actually better in my opinion, but the quality is much worse.

@@Quoutub One of the reasons is, it doesn't feature Nick McCabe. This was part of a group of songs that were recorded prior to McCabes return. All guitar parts are Simon Tong. It's strange that Richard didn't release it as a solo artist. So, there's probably more to it than just that. But McCabe was a factor.

Oh god, I have same situation! I just listened it full for a first time. And now I'm literally full of tears. This masterpiece reminds me of my childhood. Idk why, but I'm coming back in time, when I was small. It's true masterpiece! Very sad, that this song wasn't released(

Just like our Earth that sits alone with life in a Galaxy void of other life forms, so the Verve was a collision of 4 individuals that made music in a way that no other band will ever produce. The synergy of the four of you amazing souls is unlike anything that is or ever will be. I miss you, but I am so grateful I have lived decades with your music and still find gems like this that make my head spin in amazement. Your music moves me like no other. Cheers.

Wow, all of these non-released tracks I am finding are incredible. Some better than on the album. I don''t know how the record business works, but it is a lose-lose-lose for everyone involved that we can't have this in our iTunes. Crazy. I hope it isn't just Richard making this decision. Not cool.

These songs should have been included in the re-master deluxe version of Urban Hymns! Apparently, RA did not want to because he wanted to re-record these songs for his solo work. I'm happy these Verve songs saw the light of day! They are incredible! Such a talented band! Love their music so much!

No, this track along with the others on the uploader’s channel were supposed to be included in the UH deluxe box set. They were mastered and ready to be included with All Ways Are Maybes mooted as a possible promo single. 3 members of the band signed off on their inclusion but one member of the band flat out refused to sign off on them being included in the boxset so unfortunately these unreleased tracks were left off.
