I remember when shooting that scene..the lamps from the crew were too hot that the sprinkler system went off and the whole down stairs of the city hall got flooded... Great memories of the San Francisco city hall

This scene and the one just before it (Embraceable You), I think are the best scenes in the film altogether. That staircase, the ceiling, the costumes, the music, combined with the camera panning shot is pure bliss. So romantic and beautiful...... it makes me weepy everytime I view it.

Paula west is the name of the singer. The Very Thought Of You is the song. Oh, I would play this at my wedding dance if they had recorded it in the CD of Bicentennial Man. I Looked everywhere for it .I couldn't even trace down her name. no one know why its been left out.

I tried to track down a copy of this song by Ms. West and went so far as getting in touch with the lady herself. Unfortunately it's not available anywhere - she doesn't even have a copy herself. She said that in her opinion Nat King Cole's version was definitive (personally I think she's wrong, but what do I know lol) :)

From All Robin Williams’s films 🎥 this is my most favorite one. Especially this scene, even though I don’t like dancing 💃 🕺, I still have faith that one day soon that beautiful woman 👩 will come to my life and spend the rest of my life with her. When that happens, I will definitively like to dance 💃 🕺 with her in a ballroom dancing to a romantic waltz song 🎶 just like in this scene.

Well..I'm almoust 99 % sure that the song before this one where she sings ... "I love...the many charms...about you..." and so on ...:) I've just saw some notes near my keyboard at home and when I saw the lirics I reallised that this is the song. It's called "Embraceable you" of George Gershwin. But I think she skips some part of the lirics. The melody is not the same. It's probably some variation or something like that. But it sounds so so cool... and relaxing :).An amaizing film and music
