Did anyone else notice that CBR started out singing in double time, and JB instantly adjusted his comping progression to fit it? Then during the brief turnaround before the second half of the opening verse, he reintroduces the original tempo, and leads her back seamlessly into the original phrasing? Well-done both of them!

I think half of what makes this so beautiful to watch is their communication. That little moment when she kind of moans the note just a tad at the end and he kind of looks over at her with a quick mmm in return... And the way they pause in that silence right after the last note is hit, taking in the power and pure beauty of what they've created... It's all just wow.

Kougeru actually, most didn’t notice it, but she started out singing it way too fast (double time), which Jon recognized and fit his chords to accommodate it, then masterfully led her back to the original phrasing during the turnaround. The fact no one notices is thanks to the piano first, then the singer for coming back without losing her spell

I am stunned. The Very Thought of You is a classic, sung by so many. But this version almost hits the best ever. John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman version will never be touched - ever. But this is so amazing, I had to listen to it over & over again. Jon Baptiste is such an amazing talent - flexible with any singer, matching them perfectly. And Corinne Bailey should do the classic song book. Her voice brings back Ella, Billie, Sarah, Blossom, Diana - so sweet and smooth.
