The biggest irony with Charlamagne, as many have pointed out, is he preaches mental health and “sends out ‘healing energy’” all the time yet he’s made a career out of tearing people down, especially when they’re at their most vulnerable like Lil Mama.

I feel like Charlemagne is a perfect example of what a large portion of the internet looks like for certain people. From the critics to entire hate trains and bandwagons, he represents a group of people whose hatred for himself trumps his love for others. Because he sees people tolerating his BS as “Love” and people who he’s surrounded by supporting his behavior are some of the main causes for his continuous lack of sympathy and envious behavior towards his victims.(because “guests” should never endure the amount of verbal abuse that this man slings at them.)

Idk why people did Logic like that. He was genuinely a good lyricist, but he essentially got bullied by multiple celebs and fans, not just charlamane. And same with Lil Mama. She was so young when she entered the industry, no one can take away her accomplishments. And they used to always dog Angela Ye out like that. I'm surprised she stayed as long as she has. She gets disrespected ALL THE TIME by her peers and guests.

The difference being though that he never tried to front like he wanted to belong in the culture. And even prior to his departure from hip-hop, you could readily hear where his heart was really at. This is the dude who played Bob Dylan covers on guitar and talks about Stevie Nicks being one of his influences (you can hear her influence in particular on his vocals with the "caprino" or "goat's wiggle" vibrato he frequently employs). Think about songs like Feeling Whitney. That's the Post that Austin truly wanted to be. So, I dunno, maybe you don't forgive him for utilizing hip-hop to launch his true career. But to be frank, considering that he really is a great singer & guitarist, I think what he did was forgivable. He gave us some good bops as a rapper, but he'll truly shine and give the fans his best where he is now. And at the end of the day, it's obvious he still has love for hip-hop. He's the type of dude to say "thank you" to the culture for giving him the platform & opportunity to be who he really wanted to be.

Mannnn the thing about Lil Mama is YES he was a huge asshole the whole time, but ppl watch the clip and FULLY IGNORE the fact she started crying when she was talking about her mother dying of cancer and how it was a hard time finishing her album, and that no matter what people say her mom will be proud. Idk why it’s as if he said one of his roasts and then in response she instantly started crying

Charlemagne hit the nail on the head with Post Malone. He used rap to make it big initially but since shifted to pop and now country. Just collaborated with Morgan Wallen this week who used the hard R with his white friends casually while drunk. A casual racist. Love him or hate him, Post is a colonizer. Yes very talented, but used a Black genre to propel himself.

@@smokeybowls187 I get what you’re trying to say, but I just disagree. I think Post comes off nice but at some point actions speak louder than words and at the end of the day he used a Black genre during a time of a huge boom via SoundCloud rap to fast track himself musically. Smart? Yeah. Is he talented? Yeah. Is it a weirdo move that he would proclaim himself to be the white Allen Iverson (a person who was unapologetically Black and himself. A man who told the NBA that he wouldn’t conform to getting rid his “thug” aesthetic for them their advertisers to be happy) and then move into making music with Morgan Wallen (a guy who isn’t apart of the KKK but is clearly much more comfortable around white people and would use the hard R when his guard is let down)? I would say that yeah, that is pretty suspect.

@@smokeybowls187 Rap and hip-hop is a genre for the people by the people. No matter how accepting they are of white people’s involvement, at the end of the day white people are just guests. Propelling yourself off the back’s of Black culture is weird in any context and Post is worse off because of it.

@@smokeybowls187 also the way you phrased all of what you said made him look like a white savior. Not saying you meant it to come off that way but what you said kinda proves my point entirely.
