This is fundamental! It is important to speak about these experiences and shed light on topics such as sexual abuse, whether it involves boys or girls, and whether it happened in the past or is happening now. It is imperative to SPEAK UP! Such issues often get swept under the rug by those who are supposed to protect us as children or teens, or they go unnoticed. Men speaking about their experiences with sexual abuse not only conveys an important message but also dismantles the stereotype that only men are sexual predators. Women can be sexual predators too, and in my eyes, they are often the worst kind because they go undetected and unnoticed. There is so much to unpack in this interview. It is a valid and necessary conversation for the evolution, healing, and well-being of our young boys and men moving forward.
@iChocolateberry7 ай бұрын
Another important point, which I will address frankly, is the cultural aspect, especially within the Black community (as I am a Black, West Indian, woman and very much aware of this context). There is a toxic culture associated with this issue that many people do not discuss. It is often seen as a rite of passage or an initiation, like a "badge of honor," to engage with older women. In some cases, Black males in the family may encourage this behavior because they do not want the boy to be perceived as gay or to be gay, or they see the act as a way to become a man. Not only is this act inappropriate but IS; sexual cohesion. I understand that THIS, I know this, and at times coming from our older heads. It needs to stop!

The small amount of men were sexually abused also so cut it out. These women get away with it in white communities like the teachers and the black community women get away with it. Stop trying to acting if men are supporting it even if some did they will say they were sexually victims also so of course they continue to push it forward. Duh.

I was riding with this guy until he brought Charlemagne the God on. How does this guy even have a platform to promote anything. The drugged and R. A 15 year old girl and got off on a technicality. And the only reason he got off is because she was black. If that was a white girl be a different story

DJ Funkmaster Flex, who recently played an audio clip from the victim’s mother, who claims Charlamagne Tha God knew the victim well, is guilty of raping her, and evaded penalty. “If he was going to be a friend to us, he came to us and said don’t worry, nothing is going to happen to her and I’ll make sure she’ll be safe,” the mother of victim Jessica Reid relayed in a 2018 interview, which was replayed by Flex. “He alluded us to believe and trust in him, and then he turns around and violates my daughter by raping and drugging her, and then… he gets away with it.”

Watch the Dj akademiks interview. It's deeper. You'll be able to see holes all in his story

People (rightly so) focus on “resilience” a lot these days. Well, Charlemagne’s an excellent example of what it looks like when you’ve been practicing it your entire life. Thanks for another impressive episode, interview, and conversation.

So grateful to hear Cthagod on here. Reading his book The Shook Ones really came to me at a crucial change in my life. And now hearing him again is another critical change point. Appreciate the talk.

Jessica Reid was 15. The animals were helpless, and the people he abuses on his show ---- Are we going to hear from them TOO?

He really shows no empathy to the people on his show.

I am so glad that someone has finally speaking out. I've been watching this despicable guy for over 3 years now once I found out that story. I saw each and every interview with Jessica Reed and no one has ever really spoke about that situation other than Tasha k interview with Jessica Reid. It's a shame that these guys are able to get away with whatever they want just because they're celebrity and some politicians choose them to be the voice for whatever vote they want to get. Stop abusing our women for god sakes

This was a great and honest discussion. Two things. 1. While I can appreciate not always being interested in surface discussions, I am not sure that all conversations need to be deep all the time. If I am at the cookout and I see Chalamagne, I am not interested in deep discussions at the cookout. In other words, time and place for everything. 2. I noticed that other than mentioning “on the radio in NYC”, Charlemagne did not mentioned his time on the Wendy Williams show. Not sure if he is under an NDA or gag order, because I thought that was his breakout employment and how the country knew of him beyond SC. All of that to say, listening to Charlemagne since the Wendy Williams show, I have seen him evolve and am extremely happy for his success.

This. “I was a victim too” is not taking accountability for your actions as an adult. I have compassion for the child he was. But he still deserves to be in prison.

Thank you (again) much enjoyed. This is what l am hearing as yer man gets deep in the latter part here. There is one mystery (I just can't express) To give your more, to receive your less. One of my good friends said, in a reggae riddim "Don't jump in the water, if you can't swim" The power of philosophy floats through my head. Light like a feather, heavy as lead. BM 🙏
