I’m binging on your videos some be of which I have never seen before. It’s a mystery. I have a neighbor about 1.5 blocks away whose house was painted magenta with a wild colored trim as well. They’ve since repainted but it’s another bright color, some shade of blue. Very happy they don’t live next door to me.

Jerry & Linda, thanks for another informative video, you packed a lot of useful information into it. I thought that the length of the video was good too, it allowed you the time to cover the questions in depth and give some details in your answers. Good luck on dealing with finding a doctor and setting up your medical services. Once you have established your medical care, it would be useful to some of us, if you could outline the process that you went through. I know that is one of my concerns, since I use a Medicare Supplement Plan, but I understand that The Villages Healthcare System requires a UnitedHealthcare Advantage Plan. FYI, I was delayed in viewing your video by a week because I was on vacation in Florida (with 2 days in The Villages) for the last 10 days. Thanks again for the work you guys do in putting together these great videos.

Thanks Jerry & Linda. We have been on five lifestyle visits over the last five years. I retired last year but my wife is still working. She has applied over twenty five times for jobs down there and has received zero responses. So it looks like we're stuck up here in Illinois for another couple of years.

We’re coming for another Lifestyle visit in a few weeks and Im going to find out about Drs that will take our medical insurance(Medicare with Blue Shield Supplemental)...We are also visiting the dog parks and talk to people with big dogs....no offense Gismo...and find out about underground fences.Your tips are great ...and. Resales are very good because there are not many new ones north of 466 and not everyone wants to live in the Southern Oaks area.

Hi Jerry and Linda! I happened upon your video and really enjoyed listening to you two describe living in The Villages and answering the questions. When I first saw TV and went back home to tell my Friends and Family where I was moving, you would think I worked for TV, I described the Lifestyle Preview Plan with such enthusiasm! I moved to TV in August 20016 and love living here! I'm from Long Island, NY and glad that I don't have to deal with those winters any more (shoveling driveways, etc) Just wanted to let you know what a great job you are both doing! Even though I already live here, I still enjoy listening to these type of videos because someone may ask a question that I might learn something more about this unique place! I have heard it referred to as "The Disney World for seniors"! BTW, I'm in the village of Buttonwood. That's near Lake Sumter Landing. I've subscribed to your vlog. Keep up the good work and congratulations on your two month anniversary!

Hi Jerry and Linda, I have just been watching Skip Smith's video and he mentioned about your channel. Hence, I am subscribing to your channel. Actually, after watching Skip's videos, I have gained quite a bit of interest in life over there. I actually live in Melbourne Australia. I am into quite a number of different interests, which you will see on my KZbin channel. I have been retired since 2009. You mentioned having a satellite dish for TV. Sounds interesting. I have never had satellite or cable TV here due to the extra expense. My hobby of receiving long distance radio and TV depends completely on atmospheric conditions. since the analogue TV has switched off, there are far less chances of receiving any far away TV signals here these days.

We will be buying our second home this summer. Summer the prices, even new homes, are at the lowest. No problems with resales.

I would think summer is a time to buy as there are less people overall down in the Villages. But Fla is not immune to the economy and overall real estate market trends , esp in the Villages where there is so much building going on. Looking at buying in the next 1-2 years but will be doing so with an eye on keeping it for 15-20 years, so not as worried about buying "at the top" but don't be blinded by the mantra" the market never goes down".

We are young, fun loving 70 yr olds. Sold our home on Seneca Park Golf course in Louisville Ky rand moved to Florida 7/17. Wanted to be close to Disney because we are part of the Disney Vacation Club....so we spend a lot of time there in the parks. Still we live an hour from Disney. I want to move to the Villages. Your info helps. I want to know how much golf carts are....I assume you’d sell one of your cars. How are the medical facilities??? Also people jokingly make snide remarks that everybody is having sex parties and women wear their shirt labels out of their blouses to make sure the men know the women are available. I would NOT want that kind of atmosphere. Is it true? Keep up the good work and keep on keepin” on. You two are entertaining!

Well, i might be exaggerating a little bit. I have been down here for over 50 years. All I can say is most of Florida has adapted and is built for the summer. Everything has AC, people know how to react to the heat, etc, You guys will be just fine!

It's all relative, we get hot humid days up here in the Northeast - its just that it seems like everyday from Memorial day to Halloween is hot an humid in FLA . But I've been told you get used to it or adjust your schedule.

Thanks for the great info. Do you know anything about renting in the villages? Are there condos or townhouses I could rent? I'm talking for a year to see if I like it. Are there realtors that help people find rentals? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.

Love watching and hearing about your adjustment to TV and retirement! "Hot" is different for everyone! Our first visit was in summer and was much more tolerable than going home to 106 Degrees of heat! We just stay in when it's too hot and take siesta time!

I have been there to visit my cousin that moved there several months ago. I thinking about moving there myself. I’ll be a single lady moving. Are there lots of single people living in the villages? I found the villages to be very clean and pretty.

Yes, it was extremely detailed. Also a termite and hurricane inspection for the roof construction. All were great. Cost around $400 for all.

I have heard that the Villages hospital has a bad reputation. Have you heard anything about it? We are in pretty good health now but worry about the future.

Mixed reviews. Lots of opinions are on Talk of the Villages. We have no experience yet.

Hi Our house is on the market in NJ. Planning to move to the Village's. One of the things that terrified me was when you mentioned the snakes. I am terrified of snakes. Alligators not so much. Also we are parents to 12 year old Eddie our 🐕. Poor Eddie was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago & now he's totally blind. He gets around here ok & he hates the heat. I'm worried about the move confusing him. To funny not worried about the kids, but I'm worried about the dog. OMG you just said about smokers & I'm a smoker.

Michelle do you remember what FDR said? "nothing to fear but fear itself" Make that your motto when you move down here. This will be a new challenge and adventure. Snakes are not easy to find. Once in a while you may see a black snake, that is probably it. Don't let fear rule your life it is illogical. As far as Eddie goes don't worry... the snakes that you may see but probably not, will almost always be harmless. I like snakes. I want to see snakes. I want to see big snakes. I never do. As far as the smoking... You know it's not good for you, you know most people don't like it, and you know you will be in the minority down here. A perfect time to quit! If you choose to continue smoking you will be fine (except for the cancer part) if you follow the rules for smokers. When people do it in the designated areas nobody cares. Good luck in selling your house. You should have a wonderful time here if you go into it with a positive attitude and leave the fear back in New Jersey.

We retired in 2011 at age 55 and moved late in 2018. We did not pick the area (Brownwood) for our lifestyle visit... but we sure loved it. Sumter and Spanish Springs have more shopping and restaurants. The houses are newer the farther south you go.

I’m very interested in The Villages and found your videos. This one kind of struck a nerve. I’m a 58 year old cigar smoker. I am very conscientious of my neighbors and other people but I enjoy my cigars. I couldn’t imagine not being able to smoke on my property for fear of offending. Are there homes where your lanai faces away from your neighbors lanai?

All of that being said, you own your home you can do as you please. There are homes that have lanais that backup to walls or nature preserves.

Every snake here is poisonous according to some folks. I've seen about 10 in 10 months, 90% black racers and nothing dangerous. I did see a post from a lady that really did find a coral snake in her shrubs.
