MJ did basically all his damage in just 11 years. He played just 13 seasons with the Bulls, sat out basically an entire year in his second season and came back with 18 games in 95. ELEVEN years was all it took.

Jordan won a title in his last six full seasons with the Bulls, yet the front office were eager to break things up to rebuilt. Unfathomable.

LeBron doesn’t even come close to Jordan for those that day LeBron is the greatest. Take the 11 seasons that Jordan really played and 11 of LeBrons years out of his current 18th season and compare the two. LeBron doesn’t even come to Jordan whatsoever.

mj made the league money...against popular revisionist history the nba until the 90's was a joke...nobody watched it...it was fighting with the nhl...nobody cared and then mj happened and it surpassed the mlb eventually in the mid to late 2000's cause of mj's impact and everyone's salary rose from 2-3 million in the mid early 90's to 15-25 million by the end and early 2000's...this league was created by the legends of mikan schayes pettit cousy russelll west oscar baylor wilt jone hiensohn ramsey sharman havlicek reed frazier lucas lanier it was molded by many 70's greats like kareem dr. j and elvin bird and magic doubled its growth rate and popularity zeke and the bad boys hurt its reputation but mj increased it by 30 fold..nobody will ever impact a sport like he did besides maybe gretzky in the us for hockey and even then not close to mj...

Saddest thing is, that this is not hindsight in 20/20, all of us who were Bulls fans or NBA fans in general, could not believe why the front office were so steadfast in wanting to breakup the dynasty in order to rebuild.

without mj the bulls are at the very bottom of nba franchises and the nba is nothing kinda like the nhl in america...aka not growing...the bulls because of mj are like the 3rd most profitable team in the nba behind the knicks and lakers and they were 1st for a while in the 90's shockingly ..no one knew what the bulls were pre mj

I forgot the name of the analyst but it was in the show with Jason Whitlock, he said in 1999 the new collective bargaining agreement would have cut MJ's pay by half. I don't know the cap for the entire team then but perhaps with large contracts for mj, scottie and dennis, it's not possible to keep the team intact. MJ will probably play considering that he had been playing underpaid for most of his career with the bulls, but they still cant give scottie a 20-30M salary.

The animosity was evident even then, 20 years ago. Who knows there might be a Jerry Krause interview sometime in the past that will show up soon. The internet is good like that. Also, the team owner is still alive. He really is more to blame than the GM in my opinion.
