The Wahoo curse is OVER! | 3 double hook ups | Back to Back Wahoo

I had two bait tubes and started filling them, catching 14 baits in 10 minutes. Not wasting any time I had two baits out on wire only a few minutes later. One bait seemed to keep taking line and I didn’t really think anything of it. My other had some slack in the line so I turned the handle a few times. As soon as I took my hand off the bait got smashed. It took off down and then way out on the surface as I repositioned by other rod to chase it down. I got most of my line back and pulled it close well before it was tired. It was a WAHOO and I didn’t take any chances pulling it in. I can’t really say how much this meant after not catching one for almost a year and having lost two in the previous week. I was wondering why the other bait hadn’t been smoked and found out why. At some point the other bait tuned into a 3ft needlefish. I moved back to where I hooked the wahoo and sent out another bait on wire. Around 30 minutes later one of the baits got inhaled. It was running hard and line was peeling off my reel. When I got all turned around to chase the fish my other bait started screaming, fortunately in the opposite direction. I suspected that had two wahoo as I fought hard to get the first fish in. Having color I could see the zebra stripers of a wahoo all lit up. I dared to get some under water footage with it right at the kayak and then kaged him. I turned my attention to the other rod and as soon as I picked it up I knew I had a shark. Elated I continued by drift with 2 more baits out. At some point I got bored/bold enough to run three live baits. Predictably I got a 3 way tangle and then hooked a fish. After several minutes of knitting another rod went off. This actually helped me separate the lines and I was able to pull the first fish in. It was an alamaco Jack and after pulling the hook out I tossed him back in. Grabbing my second rod still tangled with my other line I fought what had either been a shark or turned into a shark before the line broke. After that I double hooked up on kawa kawa before heading in. My friends scored wahoo and mahi as well.

Such a cool fishery over there. We have offshore kayak fishing here in texas, but mainly for kingfish, cobia, and jack crevelle. We have to go out 4-5 miles to the oil rigs and it's only about 50-60 feet deep.
