the mention of marko made me realize that, if luffy gives him a ride back to whitebeards home, he could potentially visit ace's grave, since he and whitebeard were buried near there. Since he didn't really get to say a proper goodbye to ace before he fainted, that feels like it could be a major weight off of his shoulders.

@Zeke Zeke I mean, it's hard to say that Yamato and Jimbe aren't at least close in power to sanji/zoro. The "monster trio" aren't as disproportionate in strength to the rest of the crew anymore. So, while I imagine that the story will end with Zoro/Sanji/Luffy as the monster trio they were, right now, it's more of a quintet. Quartet if you say jimbe isn't as strong.

I always describe pre timeskip as the straw hats almost randomly finding themselves involved with a constantly growing world. post time skip is the straw hats directly involving themselves in that world with actual purpose. different type of story telling, but i do wish we got even a little more of the family dynamic between the crew post timeskip. sometimes thats where anime filler would come in handy (things like g8 arc)

Random thought, but maybe Shanks went to Wano, not to interfere with Luffys fight, but in case Luffy had lost to Kaido/BM, so he could do what he did at Marineford with Ace and WB, and give Luffy and co. a proper burial. Also, to find the Nika Nika fruit before anyone else would be able to after it becomes a fruit again? Since Luffy didn't lose, Shanks just went on with his own agenda.

7:11 - 7:17 Hearing you say this made me have an interesting thought. I recall, during the Reverie, King Cobra wondering why the Nefertari family was the ONLY one of the World Government founding families that chose to not stay as Celestial Dragons. But now that we know the Nefertaris were hiding a Poneglyph that had the location of an Ancient Weapon, I think it's fairly reasonable to assume that the King Nefertari that helped establish the World Government, immediately regretted their decision, and to atone for that decision: Helped hide one of the only weapons the World Government fears, and decide to pass down the knowledge of where to find it through their descendants, hoping that the information would one day find its way to JoyBoy.

I feel like Oda included Marco for the same reason he included Ace in Alabaster - because he's really cool and fun and people wanted to see him. After losing the payback war maybe he was looking to put his lot behind the next generation. Much like how Shanks did at the end of this chapter.

So in regards to Pluton, doesn't Robin need to be present when Jinbei and Yamato are officially able to join the crew (exchanging the sake) since the crew decided to hold off on that until after the raid? If thats the case doesn't Robin have to at least finish her business off with Pluton before that meaning it is possible to at least learn what Pluton is while maybe not being in much detail?

Also both Law and Robin's DF abilities are probably the best suited for finding things like these (Law could create a massive room and scan for objects and once he finds something Robin may be able to create eyes or other limbs to locate it).

I highly doubt we are going to get more information on Pluton. And when has exchanging sake even been needed for someone to join the crew? Jinbei has already joined the crew and Yamato is still a toss up for me. Even though I would love for him to join. Luffy said that after the raid they are going to throw the biggest party ever and that's what's happening right now. Everyone is celebrating and have been for the past week since Luffy defeated Kaido.

The arrival of this weapon also completely changed the country’s communication with the outside world and part of it looks like a wasteland? This arc could’ve had a VERY different ending! Remember, the whole reason the blueprints were passed down through the generations of shipwrights at Water Seven was so that if Pluton ever fell into the wrong hands, they could build a duplicate to fight it. If what makes it so powerful is a devil fruit, they wouldn't be able to replicate that even with the blueprints.

Full details below but tl:dr, Hiyori’s actions led to Orochi’s death (he states “at the very least i can take you down with me” and “i’m taking your daughter to hell with me”) and all Denjiro did was stop Orochi from killing her

Tv tropes: Of note however - despite Denjiro's interference, the narrative doesn't portray the act as him stepping in to 'dirty his hands' for Hiyori's sake, nor to do what she herself couldn't by striking down Orochi. Orochi himself admitted that he was dying from the fires that Hiyori immobilised him long enough to be engulfed by and all his efforts were merely him trying to enact one last act of petty suffering against the Kozuki clan, taking Hiyori down with him to deny her the reward of her long 20 years waiting for that very moment. Denjro's interference was merely him denying the tyrant even that small victory, leaving him to die an utter disgrace at the hands of a woman who wasn't even a fighter, yet rendered him utterly helpless to avert his demise regardless.

It actually makes sense in the context that Crocodile was a Warlord of the sea who was on the verge of taking over an entire country. If he took Alabasta there’s no telling what sort of resources he would have access to from the country and from the WG. He took on Whitebeard before so I don’t think he was afraid of the challenge of Kaido anyway.

Fun fact: the straw hats have not used their log pose to go to an island once since the timeskip. The only time they ever followed it was when they left Fishman Island, but they only got to Punk Hazard through sheer chance that had nothing to do with the log pose. I think Blackbeard will have a perfect counter to haki like he has to Devil fruits. Remember, he was the one who gave Shanks his scar meaning that Shanks didnt see it coming because Blackbeard probably fooled his observational haki somehow (multiple people theory fits here). Blackbeard is probably anti-meta in One Piece world.

A pretty crazy detail is that we have not used the log pose since Fishman Island. The 3 poses were introduced and the crew were aiming for Raijin Island before they intersepted the marine distress signal and have since, always followed thr eternal logs. I hope that the next island, considering the last location isn't known for the big red cube, we use the log pose again, maybe splitting into 3 groups... Straw Hat, Kid and Heart pirates to find the last poneglyph, with the Strawhats choosing the wobbliest arrow which leads to Elbaf... my hope as I kind of enjoyed this mechanic introduced at the beginning Edit: I know WCI they used the poses but to navigate past islands with puddings map. I meant more using the poses to get from one island to an unknown island (sky island, fishman island, little garden, raijin island etc.)

Likely Roger/Shanks took it (as Shanks was part of Roger's crew at the time) or Whitebeard (when he protected Fishman Island). I'm guessing Shanks has ownership but won't rule out Blackbeard due to his past connections with Whitebeard

I think the Uta panel is probably a happy mix of the two. I think Shanks definitely wanted to be present just to ensure that scavengers werent going to mess with the little history makers - there aren't many times when Shanks doesn't have ulterior motives but I get a feeling this one was straightforward in comparison. If you had the chance to add extra hype to promo a movie coming out, for the tiniest effort possible why wouldn't you take it? it's an abstract, tiny little shadow at the edge of a panel

Only temporary I think Like Akainu got shattered to bits by Whitebeards Earthquake-bubble, Or Kizaru got blown in half by Apoos Song powers, and they both regenerated their Bodys from that, just 2 examples. So im not sure if just burn from the Magma alone would permanently burn a bodypart of a Logia user away

I just subbed and have a theory: Shanks is there to open Wano's borders to get Pluton, which is a ship. He is going to take Luffy to get the one piece with Pluton because he knows the one piece has something to do with JoyBoy. He needed the awakened Nika fruit for it for some reason. Now for the main meat of my theory, Shanks is going to use plutonium to destroy the Red line, uniting all the oceans and starting a war, the biggest one. What will happen or exactly why, is up to Oda. He might be planning for Joyboy to end the conflict and remake the world, into one piece. Under One Peace. It makes better sense in my head, I hate how jumbled my mind becomes when I type. Hopefully, you can piece it together ok. excited for the next 3-5 years.

Why is no one talking of Wano itself being the ancient kingdom. Now that we know actual wano was much lager than the current wano it surely indicates in that direction. Also, wano being the only allied nation to close its borders for the outside world as if they want to protect the country itself from the WG. As if they want to proctect what remains of the ancient kingdom. Another thing is the panic Prof Clover created when name dropping the name of the ancient kingdom. If the name was not that relevant the Gorosie would have not killed him right away. And why it was predicted that Joy boy would appear in Wano. Does Joy boy hold a special relation with wano? Yes it is a allied nation, but then why not other allied nation like the minks or fishman. It is as if the king would rise at the very place he was defeated.

Honestly I think Shanks was in Wano cause film Red is about to come out and Oda needed him to show up so people would be hyped for the movie. Man has shown up less than 10 times in the entire series and we still barely know how strong he actually is. Sure he's done some cool stuff but that's it. Same thing with Dragon. Man has been in the series probably around 5 times maybe a couple more and yet he's the most wanted man in the world apparently. If we're in the end game supposedly then stuff needs to start happening and it needs to start happening now. The time has passed for us just being told about stuff. Honestly the void century wano being under wano is a huge thing. We saw the frozen city under the world gov capital and we all ask what is under enies lobby. Crocodile coming back was strange as well but what is something is under the sands of alabasta. It is also said the red line is a collection of islands with different climates and is very strange. Oda is making it really really look like the water levels had been risen to hide and protect the remaining pieces of the void century. This would also give a power up to a ship like pluton and poseidons army of monsters. Oda also stated the roger pirates "dissapeard" then returned having found the final island. He said "dissapeard" as if they could not be found or seen be it the sky islands, sea, fishman island, ect.
