I can just imagine Spurius and his wife sitting down in their Villa and Lionheart keeps coming up every afternoon and poking his head in the window asking, "Hey, did you two have kids yet? We need them for Rome."

''Cursus honorum: the Ladder of Politics'' - Chapter 3 First of all, I am very sorry for the late post and I can, unfortunately, not afford it to elaborate very long. I am in a bit of a hurry due to college starting up. Wright not, however, for I will be back next episode with the topic of consules! So, today, a brief story about the office of Aedile. Aediles are, very basically, the money-spenders of the Republic. Now, you might think: ''Dear Bas, didn't you say Quaestores spent all the money of the Roman Republic?'' Well, yes, I did say so. I am not right -- of course, heh. Whereas Quaestores spent public money, Aediles spent private money. Basically, they bankrupted themselves by organising and hosting lavish public games, supplying the Roman grain-doles and supporting public events. The aedileship was not a step a politician needed to take in his career. It was, however, the step that made you popular. Hugely so, if we look to one of Rome's most favourite and most influential politicians -- none other than Gaius Iulius Caesar. Caesar bankrupted himself quite badly by hosting the biggest Ludi, ''Games'', Rome had ever seen until that time. Caesar was only able to maintain his position on account of his political backers (most notably Pompeius, or Pompey, the Great and Licinius Crassus). Caesar, now bankrupt, could rely on the biggest backer of all from henceforth: the Roman mob. Conclusively: being an Aedile was about spending, spending and spending, whilst making yourself popular. Senators often disliked you, but hey; ain't that just politics? Til next time!

I find for the spy taking menace is good, especially against smaller factions because you can starve out their armies by stealing their food allowing you to walk through otherwise annoying single province factions

Doing ban van de vens job today, nothing you can do about it. The cursus honorum: Aediles Last time he covered the the praetorship who ran the roman judical systems and sometimes even lead armies. Today we're taking on aediles which actually was lower then the term of praetor, but what made it special was that it was an optinal step for amtious politicans. It was also mostly taken by ambitous reformers and populists. Some parts of the job of aediles were the upkeep of temples (Even though aediles can literally be translated to: "temple builder") . The upkeep of temples were more importantant then you maybe think, as the literall gold supply of Rome was stored in the temple of Saturn and the senate house was also a temple. They were also responsible for the public baths which were a GIANT part of Roman social life, as most Romans went there usless they were really poor, they would even incloud; Boar games, dice games, restoraunts, shopping centers and more. You might now understand why this was such a popular term for populists, as most of the job would be with the normal citizens. They were also responsible for the aqueducts, grain import to Rome. Now, one of the most important parts of the aediles, running the festivals. Aediles would plan up the festivals/holidays of the Roman Republic. It would later on become more common for aediles to also use their personal whealth to have enough for more wild festivals. This could make you really popular with the masses which was a dream-come-true for any populist. As the other terms, this one would be for a whole year. Their would be elected 4 each year, but you had to be atleast 35 to run for it. Well i am done here! See you next time when Ban will cover the: "Consuls"! See you next time! Suck it Ban >:)

I think reinforcing your allies would be a wise option. That way you're still moving forward and making progress instead of just sitting there waiting to see if they can actually take their territory back. I also think that you should do all elite units in your southern army and keep him at your border in case the southerners get rowdy. Though I'd like to recommend going with a couple more swords, two cav units total, and then spam those javelins. They do have less ammunition and range, but in an elite army that should last a long while, their armor piercing will be helpful against other factions with higher tiered troops with more armor. Just a few thoughts. Never given them before but felt like why not. Love your videos man, keep it up.

Sorry about the desync between the General and Politician appearances for Important Characters - it's one of the things I'll be fixing in the coming update. By the way, I noticed that the your mod collection link in your video's descriptions only links to the "Rome: Total War Music" mod?

Why are you still recruiting slingers when javelin throwers would be much more effective?
@brynndavis18186 жыл бұрын
range
@zeppelinled39676 жыл бұрын
range + more damage in the long run, while javelin thrower can decimate 1 unite,it becomes useless, basically without amunition it's a mob unite soo

Near the end of the video, you were given a settlement. I think you could've held on to it very easily, because the faction that gave it to you was protecting the only border in and out. It appeared that settlement was protected by mountains and sea on all other sides.

Set an ambush with Camillus out of Ariminum and have Spurius follow him. The Umbri can manage to reclaim their territory, so no need to worry about them. Last, you should probably make an effort to hold over Tergeste and recruit a General over there, better yet an Admiral.
