Dope performances friends, very different performances but very dope. Loved the difference though from the acoustic to the heavy rock again - it's great to see them filling out everything they can!

So far, the Queen loves someone who doesn't even know she exists. Her obsession grows and is overwhelming her. In 'The One', things begin to turn dangerous. She gets the idea of killing off everyone who loves him so that only her love remains. The lyrics also go from "let me be the one" to "I WILL BE the one".

In The One, she is saying that she is willing to do whatever it takes to be "the one." At the end she says she WILL be the one. It's about to take a bad turn. I think Ale carries a large load on this song. She's playing more than a simple bass line, she is actually carrying the melody at times. And singing harmony. And she's only 13.

Hanabie is a metalcore girl band from Japan. They have a song 'Want to tie-down'. The lyrics are just 'want to get married' which seems weird because it's such a heavy song. Not what you expect from such heavy music. All their songs are like that it's funny. All girl stuff. But it's legit heavy af.

Pau, not Ale. Ale is playing bass, yes, but doesn't sing in this at all. She is sitting down, ten feet from the mic. :) There is a sound check that honestly sounds even better than this. They actually have three video vlogs on their KZbin channel The Warning Vlog #23, Vlog # 25 and Vlog # 26. The ladies go into every song in order explaining their version of what each song is about. But they leave it up to the individual to make up their own version of what the song means to them. By the way great breakdown.

Dude, I love your enthusiasm and your nerdy commentary! FYI: Dany's Acoustic guitar is an Ovation. She borrowed it from the Ovation Booth at NAMM, which was going on in LA at the same time. She has always used an Ovation for shows, but she did get a beautiful new Taylor during Covid, but we haven't seen it for a show yet. I don't think it is mic'ed. Also, these live videos give you an idea of how good they are, but seeing them live is a whole other story. They OWN the stage AND the crowd. You don't understand how good their musicianship and their singing are until you are 10 feet from them seeing it yourself. I have been going to rock concerts for 40 years, and if I only get to see one band live for the rest of my life, it is The Warning. The Story. They did do a series of vlogs explaining the story, but they also made it purposely vague to let the listener have their own interpretation. Keep in mind that most of this story is inner monologue in the main character's head. So, in Crimson Queen, the main character ("The Queen") has a crush on someone that doesn't know she exists. In UGH, she is basically Dreaming about how great everything will be if her love would just be with her. And her confused feeling about that. In The One, she is now obsessed. This line from the song kind of sums up how crazy she is: "I want to kill all the love that's for you, so only mine remains, there's nothing to choose. You'll look at me and only me." That is a seriously obsessed crazy chick! LOL Keep on this journey, it just gets darker and harder as you go! When people call this album a masterpiece, it is no exaggeration! Future Legends!

The "Queen of the Murder Scene" album brings me back to the concept albums of the 70's. I find myself thinking when listening to those vintage albums, that I would rather be listening to The Warning. Their sound is infectious.
@detlevschwalm6327
@detlevschwalm6327 Жыл бұрын
I'm also reminded of the 70's especially by QOTMS, and I liked most of the music (Rock-music or progressive rock) of that days or of the bands of those days. Them being a threepiece reminds of Rush obviously, but what is my struggle with TW: They took away most of the magic of the older songs. Yesterday I thought, it couldn't be me only hearing the Warning songs every day. I thought about what might be a song, I would appreciate to hear again after a while and choose "Headlong flight", a great song of the later years of Rush. I started listening and it was good, but the magic of The Warning is missing. I didn't listen up to the end and choose the next TW-song. Don't know, what is is, but I'm completely addicted to them.

Concept albums are much harder to make well than a standard album and QOTMS is amazing. The fact that they were so young writing it is even another layer on top of how amazing it is.

What really draws me to The Warning is their passion for doing what they love. Every performance is a joy for them, they really live it and love doing it, it is not a chore for them. Their musicianship is exceptional especially considering their age. And the other thing is their music, it is simply just great to listen to, they know how to write and play a good rock song and they do it ever so consistently, their lyrics are deep, well thought out meaningful, and for this album really allow the story they want to tell flow. They might be slightly short in reality but they stand head and shoulders above when it comes to their skill and ability to put on one hell of a show.

They do use backing tracks occasionally for piano, sound effects, and sometimes another guitar, but on more than one occasion they have had their laptop crash, and carried on without any problem, or the audience even noticing the difference. Once again, enjoyed your reaction and your “nerdy” tech analysis. 👍😎

They did an interview with Ryan Roxie from the Alice Cooper band where they discussed backing tracks. They have a very good outlook as to when to use them and when not to. For that particular track I believe Pau is credited with the piano part you hear. Additionally, Pau (pow) the drummer has a couple of MIDI pedals back there with her where she can start and stop the tracks during a song as she needs to. Pau has done a lot of work with the laptop there to her left. She can adjust the pedal boards for the guitar and bass plus control the video display when available. The Queen of the Murder Scene is a concept album. The woman goes from infatuation to obsession to murder and eventual suicide. As originally conceived it was multiple murders. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYCrqpesnbCjY8k

Dany has a programmable pedal board that can duplicate her guitar signal in different octaves with differing effects making it sound like multiple guitars. The piano is a backing tracking recorded by them. Pau dowloads the program for each song from a laptop to her left and also runs the backing track; all while drumming and singing.

The story is told from the pov of the protagonist who is obsessed with someone who essentially doesn’t even know she exists. All the talking at this point is all in her head. It’s not a breakup or relationship gone bad. It’s just her growing delusion which you may guess, doesn’t end well. Note how she begins the song saying “Let me be the one.” By the end of the song it has changed to “I Will be the one!”

Two things so far, a lot of people mic up and even conflate harmonies with unison vocals. Unison being much more popular were one or more backup singers sing the same notes but in their own tone where as harmonies are often sung by the backup singers a third or fifth from the main vocal to produce a harmonic tone. The second is Ugh comes after after Crimson Queen on the album. Queen of the Murder Scene is a concept album that was written as a story that progresses from song to song. So the order if you were going to follow the story would be: Dust to Dust (Prologue) Crimson Queen Ugh The One Stalker Red Hands Never Fade The Sacrifice Sinister Smiles Dull Knives (Cut Better) Queen of the Murder Scene P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C. The Hunter The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade) The Warning recently did an interview with Ryan Roxie, guitarist for Alice Cooper and he asked about the use of "Backing Tracks" and Pau was quite straight forward and unapologetic about their use of them. She explains that she works very hard programming Ableton Live and working the midi foot pedals to trigger the laptop almost as if it's another instrument. She also explains that they write and perfom all the instruments that are recorded to the STEM tracks. She also explains that while they like to use the backing tracks to help augment their sound they are also not a slave to them because they are well aware of and have had many instances when the laptop stopped working or her midi pedals failed and they had to play on and mostly novody knew there was a problem. She says they use them as a tool not a crutch and if the click fails or some other glitch they can play on and keep rocking.

Yes, CDMX = Mexico City = about 7300 feet of altitude. The Lunario show was their live debut of the entire album which they had released in chapters over the preceding few months. Seriously hope you keep going through this whole album to follow this story along through to it's conclusion. You definitely want to have the lyrics handy when listening to this album for the first time. As for the backing tracks, yes they do use them but don't rely on them. Another comment posted a link to them talking about it, but basically it comes down to that it helps to fill out the sound in the song, but they don't want to hold the show hostage for them either. If the computer fails mid show (which it has on them before), they'll keep rocking their songs without the tracks and it sounds just as good. Dany even jokes on stage that "it's not a Warning show without technical issues" until Pau either fixes the issue or they decide to ditch the tracks and move on.

Nice reaction brother. I personally prefer the Lunario concert for all the QOTMS songs. Especially in Crimson Queen there is even more emotion conveyed. Additionally, the stage production is better with a huge video screen backdrop as well as a larger audience in their home country. Haha thanks for this!! I’m glad we’re on the same team! I was a sound guy for 10 years, but kinda focused my niche in performances. I would sit in with bands and help them get what they needed for their performances so it all went smooth - which got me hands on with lots of singers, drummers, and then other musicians as well over the years. I’ve also been in a couple bands and toured / done the whole local mid size band thing so it feels like it works out!

I haven’t been so excited about a new band since Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple release their first albums. It’s been a long wait. (Well, they’re been around for years but seem to be breaking out now and, they’re new to me. Not to mention the members are roughly the age of Led Zeppelin when they hit the airwaves. Robert Plant was like 19 yo.) The guitar is an Ovation. They their own unique timbre.

As some have pointed out, you got out of sequence there a bit since you did Ugh awhile back. So after circling back to catch Crimson Queen, you're back in sequence with The One and so the next one up in album order is Stalker. Since you like to see various venues, there are three primary ones for this album, Lunario CDMX, Foro Didi, and The Whiskey. The problem with the Foro Didi show is that it's one big video of the entire concert, not available as individual videos. However there is a pinned comment at the top with the times for each song. Foro Didi (whole concert) => kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4ebmKN_p66Fb9U And when you get to Dull Knives, there is a special video of that one done for a virtual concert during the pandemic: Dull Knives from The Warning Cave for De(Tour) => kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4e4dK2ned6Cmqs Having said all that, please watch the Lunario version of Stalker, it shows Pau doing one of her epic drum fills, so epic this time that she needed a new stick at the end of it.
