You know a lot of those parents(my generation) had their parents sit them in front of a tv, basically turning the tv/vcr into the babysitter. It’s a vicious cycle and I agree we all need to break out of this dependence on electronics, although I don’t have kids of my own I do have a niece that’s 10 and I am always trying to do real life things with her(and her immediate family)--interacting with the real world. Thank you David for reacting to The Warning, enjoyed your passion.

In my generation one complaint from my grandparents generation was how parents would sit their kids in front of a tv, luckily mom had us go outside and I preferred nature, reading, creative outlets, however not all kids from my generation were so lucky. With that said it’s not so surprising that their kids became the current generation glued to electronics. Mark it sounds like you and I were lucky, my overall point was that this habit of sticking kids in front of some kind of technology isn’t exclusive to the current generation and it’s been building for some time. It’s so amazing and sad at the same time that this was created by three girls being 12,15 and 17 years of age who also back then were known only by a few people who followed them since it all started. As always your reaction is top notch, thank you for reacting to TW, they are masters of their craft. This was their first album and they made it independent from any record label. If you have seen the TedX concert this is the record Dany talks about when she tells the story about how the industry wanted to change them "for the wrong reason" as Dany said back then. I am pretty sure this video would never have been done if they had signed with a label that would have changed them into something flat and generic. Dany Pau and Ale are so intelligent, they realized what would happen if they had signed with a label that wanted to change them. They want to do their art, and if they can´t do that then they are not interested in signing a record deal. They are now signed to LAVA and they have let the girls keep full control over their work and they have been granted to keep their patreon, which is uncommon when a band gets signed. The Warning has struck gold and are going to rise into the rock ´n Roll sky even more. The groundwork is ready, now remains only the rest, to rise to super Rock Star status. I am eagerly awaiting their first headlining arena show, they are going to kick ass. TW for ever! 💥🤘🤘🤘🤘

Ale was playing a Fender then. Once she started playing Spector basses, the tone cuts through much better!

Not really,if Ale played a full scale Fender,it would offer her the same scope - A Fender is a more versatile instrument,I've played them for over 4 decades,as well as most other makes,and the Fender is basically the industry standard. More than the instrument itself,is the person playing it,and Ale could make a watermelon sound awesome.
@crazeyjoe4 жыл бұрын
@@robhaunui3343 I am not saying that Fender basses are bad. One has to keep in mind that the Spector bass has a "growly" treble overtones that cuts through the kick drum and guitar with distortion better than a Fender. Many of hard rock and metal band producers have have purchased a Spector NS bass for their studio because of how well they get the job done. For 70's classic rock, country etc, the Fender is great for that.
@robhaunui33434 жыл бұрын
@@crazeyjoe yeah,I totally understood where you were coming from,but more studios still use the Fender Precision and Jazz basses as their go-to instrument,as they are more versatile. As you can tell,I much prefer the Fender over the Spector,but I also love the sound and look of the Danelectro Longhorn bass,it's a short scale bass,that certainly has its own sound. At the end of the day,no matter what instrument is being used,if you're as talented as Ale,you could make anything bass sound good,and most importantly is the amp ! A shitty bass,can sound good on a great amp.

Thanks for mentioning me! 😉 Great review and I totally agree. I just wanted to add a thing (or two). The director's cut of this video starts with a quote by Aldous Huxley, the author of Brave New World: "Men have become the tools of their tools." and I think, this sums up the topic pretty well. 😉 Another little detail, you might have missed: Did you notice, how the guy in the video becomes invisible to his co-workers, once he got offline. They are constantly running into him. The guy in the intro, who is sitting in the car, taking his blindfold off is actually Abraham Marcos, the director of the video. The bass is really low in this video (actually on the wholy album), but being a bassist, you should check out other old videos by them. That Fender Mustang is the best sounding short scale bass, I've ever heard. As you surely know, these short scales have a tendency to sound very muddy and totally get lost in the mix, but this one really stands out with a lot of punch and definition. If you have to use a shortscale because your fingers or arms are to short, I would really recommend this one instead of a Gibson EB or even an Alembic. It's not only a lot cheaper, it really sounds pretty close to a long scale. 😁

What I find so remarkable about The Warning with this particular song is their ages, 17, 15 and 12, and they wrote it themselves -- they already appreciated at such a young age the deep societal problems linked to social media and its role in rampant consumerism. Such wise heads on such young shoulders shows that there is still some (slim) hope for the future!

I am pretty sure the band said that this video was filmed in an office building under construction in Monterrey, MX.

You say Ale's bass sound didn't stand out in this song. And I agree. Using a Fender Mustang bass here, and also using a Gibson EB-0 on other occasions back then, her bass sound didn't really stand out till after she first started playing the Spector basses.

You're right! Even our politics are driven by what you're told through technology and how dare you think for yourself. Sad world!

Love your channel and you analysis of songs. Just wondering if after you do your reactions, do you go back and listen to to the full songs to get the actual feel of the songs without all the start/stop? I hope so. I would hate to think that someone's opinion of a song (any song) was only based on a start/stop reaction video. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Oh my Christmas Day watching 6 adults from 65 to 29 all staring at their iPhones for the day 😠 Seriously though, these girls are so perceptive and aware of their surroundings to be able to write this amazing song at their age is quite remarkable. Not hating on teens, adults are as bad they’re being force fed this crap by the corporations...

Same same Dave, I hate those phones and have been saying much the same about our society for years! I was glancing through the comments ant what these oafs are missing is the whole reason that Dany, Pau and Ale wrote this song IS to convey this message, to impact peoples lives and get them to THINK! The fact you got so passionate because of this video means they accomplished what they set out to do! The falling off the building ,to me, signifies three people coming to their sense's. The girls knew from a young age (12) in Alle's case the old Blues tenant: "It's not the notes you choose to put in but it's the ones you choose to leave out" ! Getting back to the comments for a second, one thing the nay sayer's over looked is that in your intro it says Reactions, Reviews, and RANTS......duh! I think everybody should take a deep breath and calm the fuck down! Great review in my eyes and looking forward to the next!

Just watched this again and had a new thought. The guy who went off-line was so incapable of handling the real world that he jumped off the building. What if the agents in masks knew that would be his reaction and were actually there to try to protect him? Will that fit the narrative?

I dunno....possibly. That's the beautiful thing about music and art in general; it's all open to interpretation.

The Warning is one of my two favorite bands. Was lucky enough to catch them in concert in NYC in 2019. This song is still one of my favorites by them. My favorite is "Ugh". You should do a reaction to that one from their Lunario Show. How about reacting to Band Maid? All female Japanese rock band. Have no idea what they are saying but their musicianship is terrific. I caught that you said you play bass and MISA's (bass) nickname is the "Barefoot Assassin". Here is a link to their song play which has an extended into. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aX3biZKqaduabbc

That's two 9.2's so far... You really need to react to Black Holes - Live @ Dakota Bar kzbin.info/www/bejne/on6bfJiHlNmBh8U ... Pau steps out from beginf the drum kit and gets overcome wit hemotion as sge gears the crows sing her song with her... a very special moment for sure. Oh and the song is very deep (about addiction written by a 13 year old... WHAT!?!). Oh and no mention of that awful dude from that awful band in this reaction... Kudos brah!
