They're just kids here. Dany taking on Randy Rhoades at 14? They definitely aren't afraid of anything which allows them to continue to grow, taking on more and more. How far they can go depends on how much they want to work to improve. No fears there, they are all in and no telling how far they can go.

I believe the this gig was before they went to Berklee college which is where they were introduced to the need for stage presence / performance. Awesome how they drink in the advice and take it to heart. (As long they believe it enhances their art) Love watching their progression!

Nice! A bit raw, but that was six years ago before they attended the summer program at Berklee College of Music in Boston where they worked on stage presence. Liceo is pronounced “lee-ceh-oh” with emphasis on the second syllable. The school is called Liceo de Monterrey. It is a bilingual Catholic school with the girls and boys educated seperately. That’s why all girls up front. We all enjoy watching them grow up.

Message about growing into their personas heard loud and clear. This was from May or June 2015, post-Ellen but before Berklee, where they learned a lot about stage presence. It was a concert they did early in the morning on the last day of school. For a young band, their stage presence was pretty good IMO. The entrance here wasn't them just standing on stage starting to play; I did catch your "like a boss" comment about Ale. They did 6 or 7 songs that day, three covers to let each of them have a special song (Everlong for Pau, Hysteria for Ale) and three or four originals (Escape the Mind, Free Falling, and I think either Exterminated or Unmendable). They also did the staging for Escape the Mind nicely. I've seen commenters elsewhere complain that Dany's solo didn't have the full complexity of Randy Rhoads's. I take your view here, I enjoyed it (there were actually some moments I liked better than the original, on preference, particularly where she made it sing -- something she likes to do, as opposed to "how many notes can I play in a second"). I liked her singing too. Obviously she doesn't have the distorted growl of Ozzy, but she got all the menace she needs in her voice in "I know that things are going wrong for me...". The person who first tried to fix her mic stand was one of their teachers, I believe. The problem wasn't that he didn't know how to tighten it down; it was that he didn't know where it should be positioned. Another reviewer noted that she added two reps of the two bar line to give her father time to get it fixed; Ale and Pau followed that perfectly. It looked to me that she looked over at Ale to signal somehow and then turned around to look at Pau, to make sure she was following also. That was one of their early technical glitches they have been so notorious for and so famous for recovering from.

When they played this on The Ellen Degeneres show, Pau did the “All Aboard! ca, ca, ca, ca” at the beginning of the song in her little girl voice and it’s too cute for words. 😎

It was cute in a way, but I think this way was much better suited for them as a band. On Ellen, they did have to cut it down, so they wouldn't have had time to play this intro.

Thank you David especially for complimenting Dany. She deserves way more credit than she gets. She is always multitasking as you can see in this video. Being a 3 piece, Dany has the job of playing rhythm guitar, lead guitar, singing lead in most songs and entertaining the crowd. That's a lot to do at the same time. On top of that here she needed to follow the mic and communicate with her dad and Pablo (i believe if i'm not mistaken) about the mic stand. Not an easy feat, Best frontwoman. As you can tell I'm a big Dany fan :)

I'm feeling You big time David. Watching them grow as performers and musician/song writers is an awesome experience...What A Ride! Here they were 10,12 and 14 years old and you can see the potential. I too hate when a cover is played note for note......might as well listen to the original, ya? People tend to over look the Performance aspect when watching a band. Who wants to pay to see a group of musician just standing on stage, no matter how good they are. To me, the post David Lee Roth Van Halen era was a bit lack luster, why, David Lee Roth was a SHOWMAN. (I'm in no way a diamond Dave fan) The third song of this set, Muse's Hysterical was chosen to show case Ale's bass abilities which, at 10 really impressed me ,I hope you get around to it. Anyway it;s fun to say "I saw them when"....

I totally agree! I love this band. I bought tickets for my first show! But they first caught my attention in 2017. That said, as great as they are, in my humble little opinion, they won't have reached legend status until they are able to improvise on stage, extend numbers, and deliver atomic bomb solos! When they can do that, then they've taken it a whole other level! I fully expect them to grow into Rock Legends! I completely agree that the best is yet to come, and we'll all be looking back at these wonderful kids that took us along for the magic carpet ride!

Sorry to hog the comment section, but I thought you may get a kick out of this. Pau said, on video somewhere, she and Dany used to tell Ale she looked like one of those air filled floppy balloon things you see in front of car dealerships and gas stations. Apparently, Ale had been given some moves to help alleviate the strain of the heavy bass on her little body, and Dany and Pau thought (at least in the beginning) it looked funny.

At least to me it seems like she gets overlooked sometimes so It's really Nice to see her get some credit for all that she does. The Ending if I'm right lead straight into the next song I think. Please React to EVERLONG from this concert it was one of Pau's (Drummer) early highlights!!!! Any tracks from Dakota Bar are also Great!!! You Really start to see them come into their own in that concert. Ale was 13 in the Dakota concert I believe.
@robertkrawitz82373 жыл бұрын
Strongly agree about Dany. I sometimes think Dany is underrated relative to her sisters because she doesn't play a lot of particularly flashy solos, so people assume that she can't. What they miss is: 1) Not doing so doesn't mean can't. A lot of her most technical (at least it appears to me) solos are on covers. Because... 2) That simply isn't her style personally nor their style as a band. When they play solos, it's to add something to the music, not simply shred for the sake of it. The End is a classic example of such. It's short, but it adds so much to the song. She has said that among her top influences are David Gilmour and Brian May. They're known for more lyrical solos than all-out shredding. 3) As the primary lead singer and guitarist in a trio, she has a lot on her plate -- lead and rhythm guitar on the same song *and* singing, and David here pointed out an example of her sisters helping her out as she prepared to transition into her solo. That has to count for more than a little something, even as a guitarist.

I don't think you can get that shirt now but their web store is open and there are a few different shirts on it. I actually like how they came out and did their intro with Pau doing a drum solo then Ale' joining with the thumping bass, and then Dany joining them. As a opening to a show I really like it or even a encore. Now granted Dany is not Ozzy or Randy but as a group at their ages here this is a great job and I love it. 8.8 Final score. I 100% agree they are far from the best they will every be, but this was one of their earliest shows and since they went to the college of music in 2015 they have continued to grow leaps and bounds from show to show. Until Ale' takes lead on a song here and there on a regular basis weather it's a single or just a album track they have more potential.

Great Reaction David! This the one video that drives me nuts, watching buddy fumble around with the mic stand. Dany pulls it out towards her because it's too far forward over her pedal board, then bozo moves it right back even through she keeps giving the head nod to move it the other way. It's moments like this that they learned how to deal with adversity on stage, and they've had plenty. That was their Dad, Luis to the rescue, and as others have stated, that's the Bands old Logo. Watching their evolutionary journey has been part of the fun, as they keep getting better every step along the way, plus you have to realize that Ale is currently just a year older than Dany was at the time of this concert. Not to mention with her acoustic guitar mic failing on Crimson Queen, I believe at the same show.
