For those who don’t know, my name is Moïse Morancy, I'm the writer, director and producer of this prequel idea. I also star as Cleon. I am moved by the response of this proof of concept trailer. If you’re like me, someone who appreciates and loves “The Warriors,” you know in 2005, Rockstar created a video game based on the cult classic and gave a backstory to how the gang was formed. Myself and others believe this needs to be remade as a prequel. No one can hold a candle to the originators but I wanted to pay homage and give them their flowers. Because they weren’t good…they were “the best.” I've been conversing with Dorsey Wright, the original Cleon and I’m glad he loved my portrayal of his iconic character! Wouldn’t it be awesome to run it back as a major production? One can only hope, right? Haha! It's on...and we're going. Let's push this!

This movie is based on the origin, which is a side mission with Cleon and Vermin. Cleon and Vermin were once destroyers, but after being double crossed by Virgil, they started the Warriors. One of the hardest and most fun missions in the game. Praying this gets a green light! Best game ever!

Actually if this movie is based on the warriors game story then, as of my opinion people nowadays are looking for the same scene of both game and movie.. Example of Cleon and Vermin picking up the bag of drugs from Vergils subordinate LC to its house in the game but in this movie, they picked up the bag of drugs in the trunk of car plus in the game Vergil has a display on his hair while the vergil on this movie doesnt have but the place it on Snow Balls hair..

Virgil gave vermin and cleon bs drugs to do a deal wit the Satans mothers the satans mothers obviously found out it was fake then they tried to kill vermin and cleon so when they finally got out of the situation the realized they got set up and so they decided to make their own gang so it was just cleon and vermin until they went to the king of the hill tournament they met swan seen that he had skills and Asked him to join the warriors and Sean wanted cowboy to join too so that’s how they got the first 4 members and the rest joined through time and all had to do different challenges and tasks to prove they were worthy enough and that’s the origin

Very well done, I can dig it! I love how y’all tie in some things from the game such as Cochise and Snow going toe to toe with Big Moe for his hat, and the inclusion of The Destroyers. One thing I kinda don’t get is Cochise and Ajax picking on Rembrandt. When you play the game it starts off with Rembrandt being initiated and being tested to see if he can rumble. After his test, The Destroyers cause trouble on The Warrior’s turf, then Cleon later on sends Rembrandt with Ajax, Cowboy, and Vermin to mark over The Destroyers turf, and they even went as far as to burn over the mural directly at their main hangout spot. In the beginning of that mission Ajax let’s Rembrandt know he’s got his back. Therefore, I don’t think Rembrandt would be disrespected by anyone in the gang (despite Ajax saying f****t a lot) and furthermore in the Jailbreak comic in the first issue, Ajax tells Rembrandt he’s got potential and that he’s gonna be a Warrior which may be a flashback to when Rembrandt first joins. But it’s all good, I can understand y’all aren’t completely going off the way the game tells the story and want to be original with it. I appreciate how y’all go into how minorities were treated around that time in a way the game does not, and its also done in a respectful manner that doesn’t make it lose the vibe of The Warriors, unlike how those crappy Netflix and HBO originals who only virtue signal and add in diversity for the sake of diversity giving it no relevance to the setting and or story of whatever movie they’re showing. I’d love to see the full movie when y’all drop it. One question I do have about this is how are the fight scenes gonna look? I’d love to see Cleon and Cochise getting down with their kung fu moves like they do in the game.

Definitely check out the warriors deleted scenes of the original movie. In the first deleted scene Ajax tells Cleon that Rembrandt will slow them down in front of everyone, so maybe he got it from there🤷🏽‍♂️ they should have kept that scene. But check it out for sure👍🏽

I disagree personally, I think only Cleon and Ajax had the resemblance, and only Cleon had the correct attitude/movements, you can tell he's a real actor playing Cleon, he channeled that character well, but then again he was barely in the film, so it's easy to create him an image. Will never be the same. Walter Hill was a great director and the original casting was perfection. Biggest problem is trying to recreate the atmoshere and setting of the original, lighting needs to be darker on and cannot see the original soundtrack being beaten. Other gangs such as The Baseball Furies were original for their day, they would be carrying knives or guns these days,just cannot see it working on a modern underground setting either.

Yeah years back, Hollywood was suppose to remake this movie where it was going to be based in LA and modern times with Tony Scott directing. Unfortunatly, Tony Scott passed away but fortunatly The Warriors remake was never made because that would have sucked on many levels. The Warriors should always maintain the 1970s era and New York City settings.

You gotta remember it’s not like they have infinite resources to cast whoever they want. They’re not a Hollywood studio they’re a KZbin channel. And I think for what they had to work with they did amazing.

@ Cochise totally agree. The original movie is a true classic which can never be beaten in modern times, no matter how good a director or how much money you spend. Remakes hardly ever work whether it is TV or film. Computer game generation need to watch the original and have been around at the time to understand. I was fifteen when I first watched it here in the UK and class it in my top ten favourite movies of all time.

This is the only acceptable way a follow up to the original could be made, excellent job!! All of the actors are casted soooo well. Every bit of character background that was shown, side stories that were included, none of of it can hold it's weight without a soundtrack that is matching this time period. The original soundtrack is perfect and the originally composed songs gave the film it's eerieness and power. I would love to hear original compositions inspired from the original made by a musician who focuses on analog arp synths ie. Moog. Rockstar went to extra lengths in the video game for the soundtrack and nailed it, expanding the soundtrack while keeping it tied to the era as well the sounds textures over the radios as well as background npc voices heard while in the streets, they never slipped with the slang of the times. The graffiti included in the game was very well researched and if this went full production would need to be adjusted of course as graffiti has evolved and looks much different today than that of the early seventies when this prequel would be taking place, as the story in the original film is based in 1979. For example in the early 70s where bubble letters were more commonplace on trains and tags were more common place on walls at that time (See documentary Wall Writers). Looking forward to this coming into full production and hopefully a series as you could get so in-depth with every characters backstory.

Except the story is not meant to be set in the 70s. The Warriors is a film that's suppose to be set in a dystopian future. Dystopian societies don't have technological advancements which is why there are a lot of out of date things within the movie. The date of the film is meant to be ambiguous which is why the characters don't act like any kids of a specific era in terms of culture and the way they dress

As of today it is the only ps2 game i have downloaded on my ps4 They should remake the game or remaster it. The game played a big part of my early childhood. I'd definitely love a Warriors TV Series. Have Season 1 be the Origins and creation of The Warriors (The Flashback Missions from the game but more fleshed out), Season 2 could be most of the events of the Video Game, Season 3 could have the first half be the events leading up to the meeting, as well as the events of the movie as well. Season 4 could be the post-movie stuff that happens in the Comics. I'd also love to see each of the gangs explained and expanded on more. They could even make a Spin-Off called The Warriors: New Bloods, that shows whats going on with The Warriors in present/modern day.
