He's a very talented guy. And people say in real life. He's a very nice, soft spoken man. I think The Warriors really boosted his career. Everyone was a perfect fit. My favorite will always be "Ajax". I was 6 when I saw this movie. And I wanted, lol to be Ajax. Me and my friends used to play The Warriors at night in the streets.

This film is so packed (pun intended) with countless little subtleties......like in this scene, after a very difficult night, Swan feels The Warriors have earned some braggadocio by saying "the best," and Masai, leader of The Riffs, shows some respect for The Warriors by having no problem with Swan's boast, in this instance.

Always wanted to know what happened to Mercy and Swan. Did they really leave? The best scene was on the subway when she want to cover her face because she was embarrassed being dirty and in cheap clothes in front of the wealthier kids who were off to their prom or something. Swan wouldn't let her cover up and his death stare to those kids was a statement that they had nothing with which to be embarrassed about. I'm pretty sure that's when Mercy fell for him.

In the comic book series Jailbreak it turns out Swan after he and the Riffs spring Ajax out of jail met with Mercy and Mercy went back to Coney to stay with him. Also Rembrandt went to Art School for a while but left to be with the Warriors and continued to practice art. Great series.

@@wiseguy240Winston Well, it might go against chaos, but gangs also love power. The idea that they could rule an entire city was enough to get most gangs on board with the idea. Luthor either wasn't swayed, or, as he stated, he just didn't care either way. Cyrus' goal, while nice sounding, was doomed to failure no matter what. Even if the allure of power kept an alliance going for a time, it would eventually break up out of greed. As Luthor showed, a couple of assassinations could go a long way to causing strife. And even if they outnumbered the police 3 to 1, there are plenty of weapons that specialize in wiping out a lot of people at once, like grenades, tear gas, gatling guns, etc. So maybe Luthor realized that, and just decided to wipe out a rival gang leader

A great movie with a great concept. Sure, the gangs are campy, but the storyline is what makes it great: a gang who isn’t only tough, but knows when they need to run back to safe turf. The anxiety they have throughout the film is what makes the film interesting and the camp and action is what makes it fun.

Coney Island is their territory, but that's not why the riffs took their colors off, it was just a sign of respect. Remember the Riffs are the largest gang in the city, they have a tremendous amount of Manpower they could have brought if they wanted to, but they realized the mistake they made and as a show of good faith and respect they did what they did

The late director Tony Scott had this very big and ambitious plan to make a new Warriors movie but the plan failed horribly. He wanted to have all of the major street gangs be in the movie and to have a lot of real gangsters,apparently,in the film. Personally,I don't see how a remake could be made to The Warriors today. You'd have to include all of the street gangs that exist now and most of them aren't using pipes,baseball bats,hockey sticks,broken bottles,pieces of wood and switchblades and fighting the way the gangs did in The Warriors.

I don't see how a remake could be made to The Warriors,especially with the gangs of today.Gangs now aren't fighting each other with hockey sticks,broken bottles,pipes,pieces of wood,baseball bats,boomerangers and switchblades. The only way I could see a Warriors remake working is if they did a Warriors remake that still takes place in the late seventies in that same ''world''if you will,of the film or if they had a sequel to the film set in the same time period with different actors. Nowadays,you've got gangs running around with semi-automatic and automatic weapons and gangs aren't really fighting each other hand to hand anymore,so that's one of the main reasons making a Warriors movie set in the present day would be hard.

People commenting on how Luthor could miss all of them with that bullet. Another point is how in the hell did the knife stick in arm at that angle? Swan would have had to have been 90 degrees to Luthor's left for it to stick in like that. Swan barely stepped 1.5 feet to his right when he made the throw. Another point is the knife itself - ever try and throw a switch blade? They are not made for throwing and have very little mass, let alone stick in Luthor's bony ass arm a good inch. Very poorly conceived scene, but it's a movie. I remember seeing an interview with the bully from "Christine," which was directed by John Carpenter. In the scene where the car runs him down, he asked Carpenter "Why is this guy running right in the middle of the road?" Carpenter responded: "because its a fuckin' movie !"

So you can throw a switchblade just fine using a straight throw, where no spin is applied at all, and definitely at that range. And they aren't all light- I've handled two different switchblades before and they both had surprising weight in the handles. At the very least there's enough mass to get a few inches into the soft stuff, you just have to get lucky. I always assumed that was the case, and Swan got him right between the ulna and radius.
