From producer M. Night Shyamalan comes “The Watchers,” written and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan and based on the novel by A.M. Shine. The film follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.
You can’t see them, but they see everything.
“The Watchers” stars Dakota Fanning (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “Ocean’s Eight”), Georgina Campbell (“Barbarian,” “Suspicion”), Oliver Finnegan (“Creeped Out,” “Outlander”) and Olwen Fouere (“The Northman,” “The Tourist”). The film is produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad. The executive producers are Jo Homewood and Stephen Dembitzer.
Joining writer/director Shyamalan behind-the-camera are director of photography Eli Arenson (“Lamb,” “Hospitality”), production designer Ferdia Murphy (“Lola,” “Finding You”), editor Job ter Burg (“Benedetta,” “Elle”) and costume design by Frank Gallacher (“Sebastian,” “Aftersun”). in the novel i remember a theory saying it's one single entity with many eyes, it's like an eldritch horror. The most horrifying part is if it's looked at, the victim becomes immortal and teleported in its personal torture chamber, residing there forever, a fate worse than death.

Thank god for M. Night Shyamalan. His movies are always one of a kind, interesting and supernaturally mysterious. Movies that keep you on the edge from start to end. Movies that keep you thinking about even after they are over. The kind of movies that I love the most. This one is written and directed by his daughter. So, I’m glad to see his own offspring have his peculiar trademarks to continue his legacy.

See a lot of people excited because they like Dakota Fanning's skills, but... you did see the name of the producer, right? A good actor can only do so much to save a bad film, and knowing Shyamalan, the Watchers are probably going to turn out to be something relly dumb that's portrayed as if it's impossibly profound and meaningful.
