Finally, the wildest story in WoD. Everyone was involved and it showed just how far of a sliding scale vampirism is.

Harsh words about MtA, especially of how true they are. It has actually always been really funny to me as Mage really managed to capture the sense of how to play with magic, but in order to build that system, it needed to be extremely abstract. Which meant that it required so much more from the GM and the players to have a fun game because Oh God the arguments you can have with that ruleset. Which has always been a shame as as much as Werewolf continues to be my first love in WoD, there was just something really brilliant about Mage.

I do absolutely adore Mage for that reason. It looks and sounds like a nightmare but it is easily my 2nd favorite WoD setting. Its so cool I wanna try it with my group someday.

It's because of this event that my tabletop group started to play 2E VtM and I'm loving it! My GM is going hard on the "Gehenna has started" setting

TFW you spirit nuke some vampire demigods so hard you dismantle your own plans for humanity's ascension I was not disappointed by the insanity that was the week of nightmares, but the reveal that hollow earth is real in the World of Darkness really shook me hard. That last thirty seconds really felt like the "don't you know how to drive" bit from I Think You Should Leave

The timeline is a little vague, but I think the 6th great maelstrom also occurs during this week, with two separate detonations of relic nukes (the ghosts of Fat Man and Little Boy) were simultaneously detonated at Enoch and in the mouth of Oblivion.
@glueboy8 ай бұрын
True! I think I mentioned it somewhere else in the comments here but originally I did mention this. But I butchered the lore so bad I had to completely scrap it lol. Wraith is a cool setting and all but its one of my much weaker points in WoD admittedly.
@WilliamRoyNelson8 ай бұрын
I see it now! I thought I was the first person to point it out. Oh well, comments are good for the algorithm, right? Don't start leaving out Wraith lore on purpose just to harvest comments from the two Wraith fans out there.

Lol normally would have been able to re-record the segment but some scheduling stuff got in the way. I pride myself on making sure the single Changling fan is happy, the couple Mage fans are happy, and now will keep the 2 Wraith fans happy lmao.

There was a show ex girlfriend showed me ,it was called Kindred: the embraced . I think it may be from this universe. Has anyone else seen it? It’s like from 1996
@glueboy9 ай бұрын
Yep! Thats based off Vampire the Masquerade. Its not lore accurate, but the vibes and themes are very true to the source material. Sadly despite everything never got more episodes cause the lead actor passed in a motorcycle accident shortly after the finale and none of the cast/crew felt right continuing the show without him.

Man, I have to admit that I had completely missed the Hollow Earth stuff. Although with quick checking, it was only the Stargazers who even have stuff about it in their book on the Werewolf side. By the way, there were two forgotten points about the Week of Nightmares here. The Perfect Metis of the Garou, although to be fair that seemed to be just randomly at the same time for reasons, and the Maelstrom of the Wraith. For those two fans of the Wraith game.
@glueboy9 ай бұрын
I'll be real, Perfect Metis was left out cause I have such a basic understanding of Werewolf it would be the exact same joke as the Changing bit I did. And I did have a part on the 6th Great Maelstrom originally... then in my edit I realized the info was so completely incorrect and too late to redo it so I just scrapped it.

@@glueboy To be real in return, even as someone who adores WtA, I would have a nightmare of a time trying to explain the Perfect Metis thing.

@glueboy9 ай бұрын
Sad to burst your bubble just a bit here, but there just isnt that much written on the Week of Nightmares to go that long lol. The longest source from White Wolf is around 20 pages and half of that is GM tools talking about how to impliment it into your game. Which hurts cause if there was more I would love to make a much longer and crazier video. But 5e isn't gonna ever touch on the Week of Nightmares so we got what we got. The best I could have done here is give more context into the 6th Great Maelstrom and the setting of Wraith the Oblivion. A setting I have a surface level set of info on and had some issues after the Week of Nightmares. Which I cut out of the video since I butchered that storyline so bad in my retelling I had to get rid of it lmao.

Wait the week of nightmares takes place in the 90s? Has anything else happened since then because an antediluvian rising is a really big deal. Like no other major signs of gehenna or other ancient vampires rising?
@glueboy9 ай бұрын
Theres other signs. The significant rise of thin bloods for one. The increasing strength of the Second Inquisition for another. Right now though its the Gehenna War in the Middle East. A bunch of the clan Elders were called to the region to fight against the Sabbat. Something *bad* is going down over there. And its gonna get worse soon.
