the boy named Nequih (meaning "no name") is part of the short story "Lupus Daemonis" In the tale, Nequih is depicted as a weak and overlooked child on the harsh world of Cthonia. Through violence and survival against brutal odds, he earns his "kill-name," signifying his transformation into Horus. The story reflects the brutal realities of Cthonia and explores Horus's rise to power while delving into themes of identity, destiny, and the harsh upbringing that shaped his future. This poignant moment when he earns the name "Horus" encapsulates both his triumph and the cost of his ascension.

Always found it interesting that he was genetically programmed to seem like a normal human when young. Other primarchs were basically demigods from the start. Such as Angron killing a bunch of Aeldari as a toddler, Fulgrim being supernaturally beautiful as a baby to the point the starving people chose to keep him, etc. But Horus actually had to live as a mortal for a time.
