I can confirm that after building the aether portal and it just not lighting, it was so suddenly disappointing that I suffered emotianal trauma, changing my brain chemistry and altering the cource of my life, sending me on a downwards spiral that culminated in me playing more random category extentions.

Just in case anyone was wondering, yes the both the jeb_ seeds were mine. Before those seeds the strat used to be using an anvil in a woodland mansion. The 2nd seed was made possible when bedrock got 64 bit seeds.

My guess is because she actually has to place the bucket of water to “activate” the portal, so if she just did it on the wall the portal wouldn’t work because there’s no air blocks. Maybe it could’ve invalidated the run 🤷

Clearly the Happy Meal Speedrun could do with some optimization. If someone spawned next to a village with a ruined portal, they could use the flint and steel and completely avoid smelting except for the potato, which would require slightly more luck of having a zombie spawn and burn it to death for the low chance of a cooked potato.

two mistakes hehe 5:40 10 ticks is half a second ... ? 20 ticks is a second 17:10 there was a bastion, you can see that the entity count jumped around 20 to 60 + there were 50 entities in the direction she was facing but i guess it was far so thats why she decided to go for glowy stone

also lava flows every 1.5 second in overworld, which is more than enough time and makes the part where he emphasizes how hard it is kind of dumb. plus even if the lava flows one block, its still fine, which means you have 3 seconds. but crimson's speed is still very impressive tho
