1:44 I would argue that Blazblue Centralfiction would take that title. Not only does it have a 36 character roster each with their own unique mechanic, but there's also a lot of interesting ways they attack. Some examples being magic spells that can combine elements in a certain order to get different moves, a sword that retract and expand as well as turn into a scythe, machinery, magnets, turning parts of the body into a werewolf, infinite chains that come out of thin air, swords that float behind the user and are able to commanded, a staff and bell that can create any object, and there's even someone who can use their own blood to form weapons and attacks. I would say that honestly, it's like Guilty Gear, but even crazier.

Before Kimberly, Isla from KOF used spray paint first. The former uses them in a more interesting manner though. Also, the yoyo as a weapon trope was started by Saki Asamiya from the Manga and Tokusatsu series (adapted from the Manga) Sukeban Deka. Saki is also the progenitor for characters like Ryuko Matoi from Kill la Kill.

IMO Blanka Chan Dolls are way more weird than Kimberly's paint cans. Also from GG I think ABBA's key is weirder, and Faust summons a wide range of absurd stuff to attack you, including a trumpet. Skull Grils's Beowulf uses a chair, but Miss Fortune attacks you with her own detached head, and Peackock main weapon is her access to cartoon hammerspace. Blaze Blue's Arakune uses bugs, while Litchi has a sentient staff. MVC has Phoenix Wright overwhelming you with bureaucracy, and Frank West using a camera flash to setup his deadly supermarket cart run-over. Melty Blood features Neko-Arc who attacks you with eye lasers, rockets and her own clones. GranBlue's Lowain meanwhile attacks you with minitanks, uncontrolled falling, his 2 bros and a mighty Godess suddenly came from nowhere.

so I have a couple of charcters i'd like to add in no particular order: Junpei from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Dude uses a baseball bat which wouldn't be too crazy... except that he has a BASEBALL METER. They somehow took the rules of Baseball, and turned it into a actual mechanic. It's one of the craziest things i've ever seen in a fighting game and I love it. Also, Junpei's bat makes that satisfying "Ping!" sound when the meter is filled out. The Belmonts from Smash Ultimate. Whips already aren't a common weapon in fighting games, but the Vampire Killer manages to be unique for even a whip. Besides looking really cool, the whip behaves a bit differently than a normal whip. It extends straight outwards, causing a long, thin hitbox. Due to the uniqueness of the whip and it's accuracy to the source material, I feel like the Belmonts are pretty underappreciated. Maxi from Soulcalibur. He uses nunchucks. Seems pretty basic, but he's like the only charter I've seen who uses nunchucks in a fighting game. Necrid from Soulcalibur 2. He dosen't have a unique weapon of his own, but instead creates energy weapons of the other characters for his attacks. It's kinda like Double before Double was even a thing, and i'd love to see more characters like this! Parasoul from Skullgirls. She wields an umbrella that cries napalm. She can use this for various traps and it makes an effective close range weapon too. The super where everyone fires into the umbrella to send out a volley of napalm is pretty dope. Peacock also from Skullgirls. She doesn't use one weapon in particular, but is essentially a walking ACME corporation.

Oh, I can go on about this... Rise Kujikawa in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax; Fights with her microphone stand and treats the match like its a rhythm game. She even goes so far as to run up to you and bitchslap you across the face! Meitenkun from King of Fighters; The dude carries a pillow around and is drowsier than someone who is unfortunate enough to in Jigglypuff's singing range, yet is still able to kick your ass. Think the Drunken Fist, but sleepier. Kokonoe from Blazblue; She has all sorts of crazy gadgets on her side, making her a mechanical nightmare! Beit lasers, rockets, a revved up version of Tager, she even pulls a Disgaea and summons a fucking meteor from a portal! You dont fuck with science! Yoshimitsu from Tekken/Soul Calibur; Sure, he uses a sword and has ninjalike skills, but he also spins around and damages himself, uses his swords as stilts, a pogo stick and a helicopter, and even goes so far as to commit harakiri towards you and also grabs you along with weirdly healing/draining you. Pretty hardcore. Hisui and Kohaku from Melty Blood; Whether it's as a team or separately, the two maids of the Tohno residence have some tricks up their sleeves. Hisui, the quiet one, attacks you with pretty much everything but the kitchen sink, as she hits you with tables, chairs, dust, even poison foods too! Also she has a sword fetish. Kohaku on the other hand, being the looniest of the two sisters, has a witch complex going on, as she attacks with molotovs whilst flying on her broom, a hidden sword within said broom, and she even drops The Earth on you during her attacks! Also her plants do her dirty work in the fights too. Platinum the Trinity from Blazblue; Pretty much beats your ass like shes in a magical girl anime. Whether its her crazy form changes from her scepter or her blowing bubbles like she's watched a lot of Spongebob, she's friggin' nuts! Wu-Ruixiang from Samurai Shodown; Klutzy with her shield as she waves it like she's carrying an oversized Chinese bowl, but with magic. She's like the Velma Dinkley of Samurai Shodown. Jack-O Valentine from Guilty Gear; Attacks with her weird cupid minions? Check. Traps you in a coffin and piledrives you? Check. Whacks you with her ball and chain? Check. Takes a page from any mecha anime and lightning kicks you? Fuckin' check! And must I mention Neco-Arc or Faust?

In Naruto, there's a character named Karin who's power is to create these giant spirit chains that she can use to enslave giant monsters or people with enormous power reserves, but in the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games, her two powers are to either hit you with her deodorant like it's pepper spray, or slaps you across the face. Her "awakened" form (where she would go SSJ) is just her mildly scolding her opponent. So you got a character with arguably one of the most powerful attacks in the entire series, and she's boiled down to her just being a Karen in the game 🥴
