Hilarious! Total role reversal this time around. Danny frets and Christof is the driving (riding) force! NOT boring by the way....love biking Canyonlands! Happy Birthday C!

Danny, that busted spoke was karma for not really wanting to do the trip on Christoph's birthday. Great effort guys.

Christof talking about Danny in the third person while Danny is filming him is really funny. Christof revealing Danny has a broken spoke while Danny is filming him is just hilarious.

I've ridden a mountain bike for decades in the Midwest-Illinois area doing 100+ for fun. But also have ridden many miles in Moab. One of the best things about Canyonlands and the White Rim Trail is the scenery and solitude - something not found out my way. It also gives you an appreciation for all you have.

you guys are beasts! i've done this three times in recent years. i've never been able to climb the switchbacks out of there. i would advise anyone to start early (pre dawn) and go ccw. the darkness and shadow from the "island in the sky" will keep the sun away for a good part of the day.

I used to ride with broken spokes all the time. On my 26in mountain bike. It was a police bike so I would have 20 lb of gear on it. Then I was 210 lb, plus 20 lb a gear. Jumping curbs and torquing up hills, probably put in about 10 mi a day. And then to fix it was about $0.20 parts and my own labor of about 20 minutes, easy peasy. I've run a couple weeks easy like that...

HBD Christoph❗️,Firstly if a broken spoke is cause enough to ruin a wheel, you’re running the wrong wheel❗️Secondly if you’re not great friends with a bike mechanic who is capable of truing a fubar’d wheel then yes riding can be quite costly.

Happy Birthday Christof, glad Danny managed to deal with having type I (rather than II) fun for your b'day outing! Imagine: nobody vomited, got benighted, met a bear, ate "gas station" food or got cliffed up :D I only wish there'd been a cafe/restaurant where Christof could've got a beer and a sandwich and laughed while Danny got frustrated by the painstakingly slow service...THAT would've been the perfect birthday present!

Happy Bday Cristof! It looks like you could lower your seat about 5mm. You look pretty extended. Give it a try and see how it goes. Might be a game changer by engaging your glutes more in the pedal stroke.
