The WHO is a rare band, four leads, Guitar, Bass, Drums and Vocals. No one takes a back seat to anyone else. And It worked.

I wish this music was played again by me, especially. Miss the loud, creative, live performing. Tight af!!! Chaotic, beautiful. ❤

John Entwistle was one of the greatest rock basist ever! Huge part of The Who’s sound. 🔥

The Who at the height of their power and energy. Nothing like them on stage before or since. The Keith Moon you see in those Shepperton studios songs was a shell of the Keith Moon in this video or the Leeds live record or Isle of Wight videos. They were amazing. I was lucky enough to see them in 1975 just after graduated from college. Still one of the greatest concerts I ever saw

I saw The Who perform this song in concert in Kansas City on 2 July 1970 - 5 days before this concert. They are my favorite live band.

Even though the camera almost completely missed John Entwistle, luckily for us the man himself played at such a volume that he's probably the loudest on the stage. Without any doubt at all, the greatest rock bassist of all time. The Who were second to nobody. Greatest. Band. Ever. Great choice Biz. Nice to see you back brother.

My older brother Scott was a big Pete Townsend fan, and even had a white jumpsuit! He was also a pretty good guitar player! Of course I was always particularly fond of the Animal. The Who Who's Next was one of my first albums that wasn't the Beatles✌️❤️🤟🥁

Love the version...more than Live at Leeds or Isle of Wight . That Bass Line (Entwhistle) particularly Shows Out .

"They got sweeeeeet.....f**kall!!" One of our favourite lines. We listened to 'Live at Leeds' a lot. 'Quadrophenia' is also a significant milestone in their oeuvre, or body of work, as well as in rock history. 🖖🏼☺️🎶❤️🍁❤️🎄🥃✨️🕊

Check out "My Wife" written by Entwistle from the Who's Next album. He also sings on that one. Great song.

The Who have always been a very dynamic live band. Before Led Zeppelin arrived in 1969, the top four bands in Europe (based on record sales and live performances) in the mid to late 60's were #1 Beatles, #2 Rolling Stones, then battling for #3 & #4 were alternately Who and Small Faces. The Who did go to the US during the British Invasion, so they are better known than SF's and were probably a stonger live band - they always kicked butt! They are also incredibly long lived, first forming while the guys were in high school and continuing on, even with the loss of two members, up until just a few years ago. Roger is an extremely talented singer with a strong voice and and a charismatic style. IMO, he doesn't quite reach the level of the other great vocalists of the era - Marriott, Plant and Rogers. These guys had something special that set them apart, range, grit and soul. No disrespect to Roger intended, he was, and still is to my knowledge a great lead singer. He also has acted a little and he wrote one of my favorite autobiographies, "Thanks alot Mr. Kibblewhite". multitalented man, and from what I have read a decent human being also. So Many live performances to recommend, but two of my favorites are; "Substitute" live at Kilburn 1977 and "See Me/Feel Me" live at Woodstock 1969 Very passionate performace by Roger.

Well, we got one teensy weensy shot of John at the end. This video is whack and that's putting it mildly. Originally a Mose Allison song.

The Who goes about a dozen songs deep at the excellent level...but then the catalogue gets a little weaker. So many albums filled with a mix of great and not so great songs. More weak songs than some of the other all time greats.
