@heroedeleyenda05

i think he did that because he learned from his experience with his nephew d'angelo while in prison. d'angelo wanted nothing to do with the game, but avon kept trying to keep him close, and d'angelo wound up dead. and that actually ties-in with d'angelo learning from Wallace, who wanted to leave the game during his bout with depression, even though wallace returned of his own accord, wallace's death, might have contributed to d'angelos change of heart. but wait, theres more.... cuddy, ended up helping kids stay out of the drug trade, which is what d'eangelo was trying to do with wallace. so its a chain reaction that came full circle with cuddy.

I just noticed, Slim Charles is always walking like he's going uphill and in nearly all his relevant conversations in the series he's either looking at eye level or looking up despite his tall stature, be it explaining to Avon how he's short on muscle, or covering for Cutty or asking Stringer how they'll move product if nobody takes it from them, to trying to explain to Stringer why hitting clay davis is a bad idea. Even when he's looking downwards, he never bends over, that's just how tall he is lol. He's trying to accomodate the person in front of him. For example, him trying to give Bodie some advice that he clearly refuses, or him trying to warn prop Joe about his nephew and Marlo and prop Joe dismisses those concerns till he gets his, and finally refusing Marlo in the most respectful way possible. He may look up most of the time, but he never tries to beat around the bush, which is why everybody trusts him, it's the one thing everybody does. They trust Slim to be honest, reliable and respectful. Even Omar spares him because he knows Slim or anyone of his ilk would not try to hurt and kill butchie. Thus, by the end of the series, he has in all likeness, become like a barometer for the rest of them, like if Slim of all people has a problem with something, that concern is VALID. Why is exactly why he's able to shatter a major rule by killing cheese and getting away with it. It is fitting that this is the only time he actually looks down in a bemused manner to the old short guy complaining about the nine, like y'all don't get it? He got Joe, but I saved y'all from this treacherous snake. It is also the only moment where he's clearly posturing as if he's on top; he made it to the top, and just in time. If this long ass essay wasn't evident enough, I'm saying that Slim has had an uphill battle from the beginning, where he had to homour and kowtow to many peole who didn't deserve it. In this scene, he reaches the summit, or the other side of the board.
