I died-Oompa Loompas. No, Oompa Loompas are from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. These are the Munchkins from the Lollipop Guild-hence the song choice "Lollipop." :D I loved your reaction. '"Hold up, y'all, she done clicked her heels." LOL!

Todrick Hall is a Broadway performer among other things. He went to the same high school as Scott, Mitch and Kirstin but he's older. He has several videos like this.

Oh damn I did not know that. The talent shows and plays/musicals were probably lit when they were there.

Different high school, but they were all in youth musical theater together.

They sing. They arrange. They act. They tell stories we all can relate to! That’s why we LOVE PTX! Sheer talent! Todrick Hall wrote this & I’m SO glad he asked PTX to help bring it to life with him!
@DScritchy3 жыл бұрын
This was Todrick’s baby. He arranged and chose the music. It was written to be a collab with PTX and they helped fine tune things, but this came from Todrick. To imply that they arrange this (though they are brilliant arrangers in their own right, along with their team) does Todrick a tremendous disservice. He’s a genius.
@Karen-Campos3 жыл бұрын
@@DScritchy You are correct. In no way did I mean to imply otherwise. I was simply highlighting that acting was part of their repertoire due to their musical theater background. Todrick & the Trio acted together back in the day in Arlington, TX didn’t they? Also, the work Todrick did writing the music for the new Disneyland “Magic Happens” parade was amazing!

LOL, it's Todrick, pronounced Todd- Rick. He's incredibly talented in his own right. I love his 90s tribute, called "4 the 90s."

You must not have been watching the same video I was... yes he is definitely appreciating the music and the quality of their singing abilities but he did not get the premise of the video therefore could not have appreciated the brilliance of the arrangement.
@avionterria78552 жыл бұрын
Pronounced Tod-rick. He created this production and asked PTX to join. Todrick Hall was on American Idol after his video went viral. He sang his McDonald's order in the drive-thru...they turned it into a commercial. He went on to work on RuPaul's Drag race.

It’s Wizard of Oz derived no Ooompaloops The Wizard of Oz is 60 years earlier at least. Drum Machine aka Kevin plays multiple instruments and speaks multiple languages and is a Yale graduate so his name is worth knowing.

I want to send you on another journey. Toddrick Hall is excellent also. He has some Acapella and also others. Some he does in drag (spectacular) and some in regular clothes. He made a movie (?) called Straight Outta Oz. It is about and hour and a half long, kind of tells his story growing up, but also set with Witches (Drag Queens) against the police (OZ) so it is also a BLM movie also. I think you will like it and his artistry.

Awww, my streak ended cuz although u seemed somewhat familiar with the story, u clearly did not get the premise of the video. You definitely enjoyed it tho which I do appreciate. Ive done 2 days (spread out) of bing watching reactions to this masterpiece. The first day, a couple weeks back shocked/saddened me. Out of the 15ish reactions I watched, only 4 reactors "got it". Of the 12 who didn't, a few were familiar with the story but were confused by the song choices, I kept waiting for the light bulb to go off and it never did. The rest clearly had never seen the wizard of oz and that made me so sad. Today, on the other hand, helped restore my faith in the American public...I was 6 for 6, coming into this reaction. Not only did all 6 clearly understand this was retelling the story with modern music, all 6 picked up on "just a lion on the cold hard ground " as well, which made me sooooo happy. The first day only 1 person picked up on that. I'm sad my streak ended but hopefully you have since figured it out either from re-watching it or reading the comments 🤞

Just a recommendation for you to consider and that is to place your "The Music Recording Network" as a watermark at the far upper left or right of all your videos to make sure people know who you are. No big deal, just sending you a thought to improve your branding. :)

You need to review another Todrick Hall (Toddy Rockstar) video, featuring Pentatonix. It's called "Black and White," and it should be more widely known than it is, especially in these hard times of Police brutality and citizen protest. This should be BLM's anthem! (PS It's pronounced Todd-Rick. He grew up singing in various choirs in Arlington, Texas, where he knew the trio of Scott, Kirstie, and Mitch, who were the original core of the group.) After B&W, you should check out SING, MAD WORLD, THE FIRST NOEL, MARY DID YOU KNOW, MAD WORLD, MR.GRINCH, and that just gets you started. They've been quite busy since the group formed in 2011. Nine years, more than 90 songs for sure. Each one an absolute jewel of perfection.
