Expanding your horizons! Isn’t it amazing how you learn so much from each other! Melissa gets to enjoy doing things she enjoys and you get the challenge of finding easier ways to do it! Great team! Have fun guys! When you stop and think about it, you two could put together a nice little side business making molds to market and s tidy little profit to boot!

Hello! I’m a beginner soap maker and also woodworker (very, very beginner) and I just want to thank you for sharing this video, wow. Your home woodshop is super impressive. I’ve been to a community woodshop local to me but it’s a pain to get in there because of the hours. You just showed me that you can have all of those same tools in your personal home woodshop. And as I’m looking for a wooden soap mold for my loaves I’m just amazed by the idea of this mold that just essentially falls away from the soap after it has hardened. What a concept! Thanks so much! I will be buying a mold for now because, like I said, beginner here and I used a jigsaw for the first time a couple of weeks ago (loved it though) but I’ll be coming back to your video to make this! I wonder if you sell your mold. I’d love to support a family business, especially since you have provided this content at no cost. I’ll try to find the answer to this now. Thanks again!

Good Morning Joe. Your molds turned out amazing. I've been researching on how to make soap and pricing all of the supplies are expensive. Unfortunately, I don't have the skills nor the tools you have to build my own so until I can I'll just keep watching you and others make their own. Melissa is going to be thrilled when she sees them :-). Peace and love.

Making soap is not expensive. You can use a cardboard box for a mold and line it with a plastic bag. All of my oils (NOT essential or fragrance oil!) can be purchased at Walmart. Lye can be purchased from Lowe's (get the Roebic 100% pure lye). You can buy essential oils in Hobby Lobby until you feel confident enough to order them from online. Colorants can be cocoa, beta carotene (from the vitamin aisle), or even pureed carrots. soapmakingforum.com is an awesome resource for information!

Good morning work dear 😊 I guess later on you have done some resin work or may be something like that over the mold for a sleek or slippery touch?

Show us one when you're using the board one. I love homemade soap. I bought one bar at our local fair for my dogs to bath with. They smelled so nice. Lavender is my favorite. I got Rosemary and Mint given to me for Christmas at the church.

Joe, I love your soap mold and it is definitely on my list! Would you consider doing a video on how to make a log splitter type of cutter? It allows you to cut the soap loaf horizontally in half. I would love to see you make one.

I hope you do a video on the soap making too. I'll be asking... For seriously greasy hands does the home made soap work good? I like Lava soap not just for the little scrubbing particles but because I can get the grease off my hands with just one washing. But I like knowing what goes into my products and want to start making my own. Essential oils are great, but soap needs to clean. ❤🌅🌵

Excuse my ignorance, but I'm guessing once you get the 'loaf' out you cut it down lengthwise to a 'normal' bar of soap length. Then you tie a ribbon around it and give to the neighbors for Christmas. :)

Do you urethane the mold? It seems like if you waxed it, it may make the soap release easier as well. Never having made it myself, it is just a guess. Thanks for the video. Garden looks good. Hard to keep up with everything coming on so quickly and at the same time. Like your butcher party, it will soon be time to get everyone together to can and preserve!

That did not go they way I thought it would. I've never seen soap molds before. I have purchased soap before. But, what I thought you were going to do was make little molds in shapes by whittling down into the wood areas to pour many moulds on one sheet of wood. You now the fancy kinds in ladies powder rooms. Ha Ha I crack myself up
