Definitely not the first. Zeemax and Koenig Specials were making widebody 8 series since the early 90s. And they didn't just bolt on some fender flares with rivets like this version, they actually replaced the fenders with wider ones, making the car much lighter.

The 1,510 figure is the CSi model. The CI trim level was made in much higher production numbers.

Correct,, but what is actually more astounding is that 850 CI with m73,,((latest cars)) were only made in 1218 pcs,, so it is 300 less vs CSI,,, quite cool IMO

It's absolutely stunning build for sure....but not first wide-body one at all....the first one was made in 90' by Koening-Specials as KS8Ci... The circular holes above front lip are not my cup of tea but I respect everyones taste is different....Also does it have hydraulic units above coilovers to lift belly up for getting over speed humps?

I dig it, up close those front flares don’t look to integrate too cleanly IMO around the front bumper but that’s nitpicking I guess, otherwise it looks super cool, the interior looks dated vs the outside.

As an E31 owner, part of me likes seeing people build these cars because they are so special. On the other hand, it pains me to see such a rare car altered in almost an irreversible way. Interior is mint on this thing, though. He must have done a manual swap, as well, because only the 850i's came with the 6 speed manual pre-1995 (in the US), as far as I remember.

10min and not a single engine bay shot, that's sad. plus loud music when we are supposed to hear the car cruising is raging me tbh bc everyone is doing it, we don't want music we want to hear the car running (yea even if it's a quiet car that make very small noise)

Unfortunately with this car we only had 2 hours to shoot. Owner did not want to show the engine bay, and the car literally made 0 noise in person. Insanely quiet. Peep one of the other The Build episodes.
