I raced classic TZ250s and 350s and an RGV250 in production racing in the early 90s and owned countless two stroke dirt bikes. The problem with 2 stroke engines for road use is they don't like constant throttle. The end result of that is a shredded license. @steveoglesby4120 Жыл бұрын
@trixnorma4508 The Zeel is a miracle upgrade. You can tune the Power Valves, the ignition timing and (if you still have the air injection jets installed) control the air injection system. It also provides a hotter spark. Not very expensive for what it does. The guy who builds it owns a 3xv and is usually available for advice.
@steveoglesby4120 Жыл бұрын
@trixnorma4508 The 3xv1 was restricted by Japanese law to 45hp. A good pipe, porting, head skim, Zeel and careful jetting can yield more than 60hp. This is it's standard map. Instead it can have an old school very peaky map, which will no doubt want to lift the front. They are only making 100 bikes. 3 that I know of to the States, several to Asia, a few to be raced. Most I believe will be sold to the UK market. All the early owners photo's show them used on public roads.

Nothing will erase the memory of my TZR, a small 50 cc 2-stroke with 6 speed , a very comfortable seat with a 13-litre tank, Over the years I have increased its power (it is forbidden) raising the engine to 22,000 rpm making the dial trot at the rpm needle. With a short transmission it was impossible to change gears fast enough even if I was not using the clutch With a long transmission I entered the highway (strictly forbidden) overtaking trucks and cars on a 2 wheel which was not supposed to exceed 45 km/h (it's the law) this machine out of hell could pass the 140 km / h What a pleasure it was to line it up for a run with friends leaving them far behind sometimes I even won against 125 cc It was with her that I had the biggest fright but it was with her that I had the greatest pleasure So I agree there are much more powerful motorcycles but the pleasure of having developed this mechanism and of making his 2-stroke engine roar to its last entrenchment The years have passed I have calmed down and 24 years later I still have its engine on a shelf at the back of the garage nostalgically remembering all those good and bad times spent with her

Bummer I live in the US. I have my collection of vintage 2 strokes. Most of the most popular 70's 2 strokes. I put an 75 rd 350 engine in a 1994 ninja 250 frame. It's a fun bike. The oil injection sounds like what skidoo did with theor sleds. Thays my favorite toy. 2023 skidoo summit 850.

If money was no option the langen would definitely be in my collection, which for the price tag will unfortunately be the case, collector's or exotic motorcycles of which this is one of a kind will buy these to look at. Fantastic two stroke machine.

My first brand new bike was a TZR 250,my dad bought it for passing my test and my birthday,both the same week and then announced that we were that night going off on a two week tour of north Wales,him on his 750 Honda,Great days👍I hated that bike after two weeks in the saddle😂,though not as much as I hated the sight of the back of the old man's bike disappearing into the distance at every straight.

Not sure why some are hating on the price of the Langen - it is incredibly lightweight, has amazing power to weight ratio, *and* is road legal. This is a no-compromises toy for people who can afford it.

I wondered if the plans could be sold to Kawasaki who could bring the price way, Way down and make it their next real Super bike with their own advancements? Or would that mean they would take his rights away any bury the plans some where. They must be aware of these possibitys they know their stuff.. Maybe he should just licence it to them. A couple of Million bucks is cool but to Kawasaki it's chump change. They are more likely to toss 2M just to shut him up. He is in a no lose situation if the bike is really, really good and very different! There other buyers. If this is not too good to be true. bring it on! 2 strokes Forever !

Seeing you on road bikes makes me think you might be interested in a little ongoing project i have going at the moment. Got an old factory SP cagiva engine for the mito from the mid 90's, gonna be building a full SP bike out of it with genuine SP parts. Think that might tickle your fancy?

The silhouette of the Langen is quite similar to an LC. If only I was cashed up! I’ll make do with my ‘83 RZ250ypvs. Well once I’ve restored the basket case. I sold a TZR250 3xv1 (1991) two years ago, that I had for a decade. Unrestricted and upset many litre bikes on the shorter tracks. When I bought the new gen R6 in 2006, it felt like a fat powerful 3xv. The chassis feel was incredibly similar. Thanks for a good vid! 👍

You can have a more natural motion blur and by extension much nicer overall look to your footage if you drop your shutter speed down to 1/60th of a second. In addition to this, 50fps at 1/60th of a second can record in an NTSC country without lights flickering. You can also drop half the frames and have a 25p cinematic sequence that doesn't look terrible due to the 1/100th shutter speed typical of 50p. You could also slow it down by 2x without it looking too choppy or sharp and still use it in the same timeline, and only go for 100fps for super slowmo.

If any of the big manufacurors would build an affordable package in a lightweight adv form with a 2t they’d have themselves a winner. I doubt it’d happen though… If I had the play money on hand I’d happily grab a bike like this to support efforts like this to keep 2t alive! Sub 300 lbs fun.
@philsince59 Жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! With such light weight and so much power with only 250 cc's LOL! that would be the ultimate adventure bike with the coolness factor of a two-stroke V-Twin would just be off the charts! I love my 2020 Suzuki V-Strom XT ADV with about 70 horsepower from its four-stroke V-Twin but that hog weighs over 500 lbs LOL!

The 2-stroke engine is alive & well in the snowmobile world. Skidoo has been using the Rotax ETEC voice-coil direct-injection engine to power their machines for well over a decade. Other manufacturers have been using electronic piston-port fuel injection for a long time now as well. This isn't new technology. Welcome to the 21st Century!
@steveoglesby41205 ай бұрын
The TZR 3xv was hamstrung to 45hp by Japanese Law. A new ignition ECU, porting and 36mm carb can approach 70 hp and retain rid-ability. The TZR engine cases are the same as those from a TZ race bike. Grafting TZ cylinders and pistons can yield 80 hp.
