If that's a permanent feature or side effect of putting them breaks on my Talaria Mx5 I don't think I will waste my money....my breaks are pretty bad ass stock and that squeaking That would do my nut in. Respect stingy, from a regular watcher. Thanks for responding. Happy riding bro!
@stingyrogerr

These are the racing pads they come pre installed with but were the original version early production models. After this they redesigned the pads with a groove in the middle reducing squeal. They also now offer organic pads for the volar sport brakes so this makes them quieter again. I also have a track focussed car with aggressive pad compound and they squeal like this when cold! To be honest in regular trail riding situations when pulling the brake levers every corner i don’t notice it or hear it so maybe its mostly when theyre still cold. I dont hear it very often when editing my riding content so the sound must almost stop when they are adequately warm! Although I was going fast and braking hard I was stopping between each take to try and film ect so they cooled again extremely fast. There’s not much that stresses or could overheat these brakes!

Do you use 21 front wheel? Does the Fastace 2.0 have enough clearance when bottoming out?

I used to use fast ace 2.0. Not anymore now tech suspension on newer videos. It will bottom 21” out but with warp 9 new drop crown for the fast ace you can fit 21” no problem. I use 19” front.

Hi mate wondering do you know whats the difference/benefits of a upgraded 82v surron battery vs a 72v battery?
@stingyrogerr
@stingyrogerr 6 ай бұрын
higher voltage is more efficient as it requires less amps to make the same power! in terms of power maybe a few more kw (10%) best case. More voltage often gives a bit more motor rpm too :) wouldn't let it be a deal breaker, a 72v 55ah battery will still have more range than a 82v 45ah battery and if you pick a high power 72v such as mine (28kw) you might not notice the difference a 30kw 82v may yield as it requires another level of motor to go past this such as the ebmx motor at double the price of a sotion motor just for the extra 5-10% extra oomph!
@BarkingStarDawg
@BarkingStarDawg 6 ай бұрын
@@stingyrogerr Thanks for the quick reply man, im on stock motor Surron lbx, x9000 controller, looking at 82v 50ah and 72v 50ah, the 82 is about £300 more than the 72 im just wondering if its worth the extra few hundred what do you think? I wont be wanting to go anywhere near 30kw! 20-25 tops if i upgrade motor in future (probs sotion)
@stingyrogerr
@stingyrogerr 6 ай бұрын
@@BarkingStarDawg you'd get more range from 82v 50 vs the 72v 50ah, although the motion tops out at 26kw so you won't gain any extra power from the 82v and will be considerably larger, Its worth the extra £300 but is it right for you is the main question, if you don't mind me asking where are you looking for these batteries, I would recommend the electron cycles 72v 55ah v3 dominator which is what I use it will have 82v power and range whilst being a bit smaller & probably less cost

@@stingyrogerr Thanks, think ill probably go 72 then based off of that, not wanting it to be too massive and heavy and im not trying to run crazy crazy power.. im looking on JSH battery as ive been offered 20% off any battery on their site because of an issue i had, 20% is a pretty decent chunk of £ so think i will be sticking with them
@stingyrogerr
@stingyrogerr 6 ай бұрын
My brother runs a 72v 53ah battery from JSH, its a good battery but not as high powered, its maxing at 15.5kw with everything we try bumped to the max on aftermarket controller - still fine for most people though and very fast bike. Definitely worth it for 20% off

hey guys loving the videos! would like to know if the Lewis EP8 brake levers have a similar feeling to the Volar Sport brake levers. like do they progressively firm up the more you apply the brakes? also wanna get more of your guys thoughts on the both brakes after a couple hundred miles and after getting a Lewis front brake to see how they hold up. the talariaboys made a brake video recently and they had The Lewis EP 6s on a bike but they said they hated it, I wanna know if maybe they got a faulty brake set or something? they said they hated the lever feeling on it and were saying that they had problems with the pistons coming out uneven on the brakes and they had bleeding problems getting oil coming out the reservoir during install. they also said they had to really press down to hard on the break lever to actually get the stopping power out of the EP 6s, im very curious how the lewis EP 8 install/bleed went for you guys and the user experience now that you've guys had it for longer, was considering EP 8 but there are so little videos online besides the one you guys made before, all the other videos is just people showing off the brakes.
@stingyrogerr
@stingyrogerr 5 ай бұрын
Hey bud, we didnt have to bleed them they came pre bled, we always try to keep the factory bleed because they are vacum filled and will never be as good if you try to do it yourself. All brakes have their own niggles when it comes to bleeding and it is often time consuming. I didn’t see those boys actually using/riding those the brakes on trails back to back i’ve just seen them talking about different brakes out loud which for me was not really much of a comparison - but creating content is time consuming and much trickier to make a thorough video than it looks! Trust me I know ;) i’m never satisfied my videos are good enough! I came from hope tech 4 v4 and both are better than the hope, the lever feel on the lewis is fine its not as modular as the hope’s but its stronger & the stronger a brake bites the less modulation they have i find anyway. The volar sport are the most powerful and for modded bikes very needed, if you can ride over 6/10ths on a 72v bike you will overheat a 4pot MTB setup easily. I would say the lewis are great feeling. We are being sent the 6 piston front to match soon also. You have to gain the muscle memory to any brake setup its normal, a few miles on each is not enough to really say if you can or can’t get a long with them in my opinion. I think the volar sport are maybe 15% more powerful than the lewis ep8 but they are around 200% more powerful than the hope tech 4’s. Although the heat resistance on the volar sport is superior by a long way to even the lewis.

@@stingyrogerr wow that was a lighting fast response i really appreciate that! For riders like me a lot of this information can be overwhelming when there are so many new options and opinions coming out, im still relatively new to having motorized bikes since i didnt grow up with them so the surron was my entry into “high powered bikes”. I like to try and learn as much as possible and work on my own bike and repairs/upgrades so i get a better understanding of bikes in general. Im mainly a street rider and sometimes go on light trails, so I understand i dont even necessarily need the same breaking power as a lot of the youtubers i see but my friends like to do drag races and ride fast cutting up traffic in nyc so good brakes are necessary, also im learning wheelies so the brake modulation is actually something i care about. I’ve gotten by on stock brakes believe it or not, since for me i was coming into this fresh with no other bike for reference, so they were good until they werent, and ive already looped a couple times from my brakes giving out even when I pressed them. i didn’t know why at first but know I know now it’s from overheating. So Ive basically been working with an on and off switch that over heats almost instantly lol so any modulation in brakes will be a vast improvement. I have ridden my friends bike with the hopetech 4 v4 and they felt great,but its not my bike so i dont have seat time using those brakes. before the Lewis or Volar brakes were available i was almost gonna get the hopetechs but decided to wait and see what people say about these two brakes respectively. Im saving up for my power upgrades but i want to upgrade brakes and suspension before i add more weight and power onto the bike. But if i could get a lot more stopping power thats what i really want, since i feel like coming off of stock brakes the modulations will be noticeable on any of the two brakes once i get the feel/muscle memory for them. Again i really appreciate the quick response and how informative the response was you answered a lot if the questions i had in my head and made it easy for someone with my level of knowledge on bikes understand , also made me understand a lot of the differences between moto style brakes and the mtb brakes seems like theres trade off in power and modulation but the motos style will have more power and mtb style in this case the hopetechs will have greater modulation

We've never even had anyone moan at us for being on them its abit more "normal" here if that makes sense.
