The water gasket seems like a good thing to add to other phones. I didn't know that and some good pressure is basically all you needed to be waterproof. And it's pretty small too. I'm sure manufacturers can machine small enough grooves for some thermoplastic gasket to fit in (so repairs can be made where the old gasket can be replaced by a new one that's smaller but expands when heated after the phone is closed back up)

I have a older version of this. Actually am typing on it. 2 accidents resulted in cracks out of thousands of drops. One drop was about 10 ft onto gravel. Both accidents were from sharp, pointy, rather long rocks. And hit in a specific angle. only gripe I had was the walkie talkie feature wasn't as easy as Nextel's were.
