Just wanted to let you know exactly what the purpose of the dream nail is, it has many more but you are not there yet in the game. Gathering Essence: Hit NPC's that HAVE dreamcatcher symbols (like Marissa & you only get 1 essence) or Dream trees to Collect Essence (Max of 51) Exploring Dream Worlds: Challenge dream boss variants of bosses you beat, like the Lost Kin. These give out tons of essence (some give up to 300) and are slightly harder variants of the boss. Learning Lore: If you hit NPC's that DO NOT have the little dreamcatcher symbols then you can see into the thoughts of NPCs like Elderbug or Bosses to see hidden backstory and get some new dialogue. Gaining Soul: When you hit any creature, boss, living thing, you gain 2/3 of you soul bar (can get up to 2/3rds with dreamwielder charm) Really useful if you stagger a boss and want to get a bunch more soul to cast spells or get a heal in.

I always love seeing players discover new things and piece together lore. Every bit of dialogue holds a story in this game, and even some hints to certain places or enemies. Most require you to talk to them a few times over to hear everything they have to say, so I’d be sure to revisit NPCs from time to time!

Dream nail: allows the user to access the mind. most npcs will give you extra dialog meanwhile mobs will give you soul and lore bosses that are dead already often lead to a boss fight and bosses you have already killed are often much more difficult and deal extra damage goodluck!

One tip for the two-damage bosses, keep an odd number of hp if you can. If you're at an odd amount of hp then going for one heal won't do anything for you as they'll still kill you in the same amount of hits, but if you're at 2 hp and heal to 3 then that gives you one more hit from death. While it wouldn't have helped with Enraged Guardian as it attacks so relentlessly you don't get a chance, its a thing to note as many late-game bosses do 2 damage per hit.

Kinda want to add to what you were told about healing in bosses: most times healing isn't safe, although staggering the boss can give you an opening to heal as well as some attacks have enough time to heal. Regardless, you will basically never have a time to heal twice in one moment.

Great video as usual😊. Pro tip: use the dream nail with every npc (also enemies) to get additional lines of dialog and lore. Also, always upgrade your nail asap. Now you have to master the double jump with the air suspension that can give you, especially in fights and boss fights, that's why you had a hard time with the lasers ❤

I like to clown on the enraged guardian for not even staggering the player when he roars, but I always forget I died a bunch too when I first fought him lol. Spells will definitely be your friends going forward (also a little detail I find interesting is that the boss names change based on Ghosts perspective of them! the broken vessel turns to the lost kin when ghost realizes they're siblings, which I think is neat)

Whoever gave you a blanket statement to not worry about healing mid boss fight did you a disservice. There are 0 bosses you can't find some time to heal in the middle of the fight vs. Some of them make it very hard, and there are some late game bosses that it's arguably not worth trying to heal against except during a stagger, even bosses that might initially seem to have no openings often have a few really good openings if you pay attention and get creative. Now, for you personally, it's possible that you will do better if you don't bother trying to find places to heal. Everyone has things they are good at, and sometimes all you need is to focus on purely dodging and attacking, but that's something you gotta figure out for yourself, and chances are if you discount finding healing opportunities completely you'll just make it harder for yourself. What is probably better advice is: "don't try to force heals or start healing randomly because you are low, look for opportunities where you can safely heal, and focus on learning the bosses attacks." They'll have to rename crystal peaks to salt peaks after all those tears you spilled fighting enraged guardian (it is a shit fight though, to be fair), but it seems you learned something valuable: Descending Dark is broken. There are a lot of fights where proper use of its generous s can let you completely avoid dangerous attacks while also doing a lot of damage. If you keep improving your spell usage like that it will serve you well. Oh and you might want to look around the city of tears a bit more. There may or may not be, among other things, a path you have yet to go down that'll lead you to an entire new area.

You can upgrade your nail with pale ore and some geo! It will increase your damage, and then you can fight Lost Kin to get a lot of essense (400 I think). It's a tough boss but so fun, you can make it, good luck!

I'd actually recommend against thoroughly exploring everything and getting as many upgrades as possible, because that makes it very underwhelming when you actually proceed. I guess getting one more nail upgrade can't hurt, because that's not at the point yet where bosses get underwhelming, but staying with the one nail upgrade he already has is also mostly fine

Lost Kin, along with 2 other bosses, gives a looot of dream essence when you beat them. there is only 3 boss that has a dream fight and they are hella strong. also, how do you not realize the huge Infected Crossroads on your screen XD if you wanna know, Forgotten crossroads gets infected if you kill the broken vessel or find one of the dreamers so yeah
