The fact that Selena was 15 at the time and Drew Seeley (Joey) was 26 years old at the time this movie was released honestly kept me from ever enjoying this movie. I love ever after too! Though I have a slightly different view on the prince. You're right, he wasn't dumber than a box of rocks, but when I rewatched it a few months ago (hadn't seen it since I was a kid/teenager) he annoyed me, because he was so self absorbed and a little clueless. He was spoiled, but I guess that comes with being an only child and a prince
@ReverieOfThorns3 ай бұрын
@elizabethshuster218 the whole point of the prince's character is that he's supposed to be influenced to be a better person by the protagonist (sorry, I forgot her name for some reason...is it Danielle?) and so he's supposed to kinda be obnoxious and selfish.

100% true that Drew Seeley was the singing voice of Troy in the first HSM only, he even wrote Getcha Head in the Game. He’s a tenor belting out those high Breaking Free notes, while Efron is a baritone.
@meganjaime7728 Жыл бұрын
Wasn’t it because Efron was doing Hairspray and they didn’t want him singing in something else? I honestly don’t know if that’s true or not though. 😆
@uhuhuh1966 Жыл бұрын
@@meganjaime7728 no that was the excuse they gave as to why he couldn’t do the live tour for HSM, but I don’t buy that lol he just didn’t want to be going on a tour lipsynching to Drew’s voice so used Hairspray as a scapegoat. No one knew who Zac was until HSM came out, he got the role in Hairspray because of HSM’s success.
@JenniferBrigitteOpticalVortex Жыл бұрын
@@meganjaime7728 No. Zac was going through puberty during the recording of the songs, so he no longer had the voice to sing the songs in the first movie.

@@meganjaime7728 no Zac couldn't carry a high enough singing voice
@civicchic Жыл бұрын
The songs in the first HSM were written before casting and Zac couldn’t hit the notes so Drew filled in. Since he was the real singer he did the cast tour with the others. The other movies they wrote the songs in Zac’s key so he could actually sing them. (I may have been a bit obsessed with Drew Seeley back in the day lol and somehow still remember these things)

Yay Jaime and a terribly fun movie!! She totes does this for us because I know these types of vids give her headache after headache since those lovely "higher ups" can't just deal with the fact that fair use exists. I guess they absolutely need her money on top of their millions or billions or whatever. Thankyou Jaime! We love you! ❤

One of my first memories is when I was almost 4, when my mom did daycare at the local gym. She'd take us above the indoor tennis courts to the wooden dance rooms, there were 2 that were separated by a 2 way mirror. I used to have dreams about it all the time, and i TOTALLY forgot about these moments i had with my mom who passed until now

Jane Lynch saves this movie for me. She is HILARIOUS! Also, yes, Drew Seeley did the singing voice for Zan Efron in High School Musical and because Zac was doing Hairspray, Drew went out on the road with the High School Musical cast when they went on tour. The footage of Joey Parker on stage is from one of the High School Musical concerts

Jamie! You will probably never see this, but the stepsisters in this are the sisters from the Ginger Snaps horror movie franchise. This came out afterwards, but if you ever want to a terrible but fun and campy horror film, check them out. I think there are 3 in total. Ginger snaps, ginger snaps unleashed, and ginger snaps back. They’re kinda epic.
