ya know what's a better (less simple) scam? Become best hecking friends with your victim, this part may take time. Then, ask to borrow a skin. After, Block and leave. Happened to me once. Lost someone I trusted very much and my knife. And the worst part was, the person who did that to me, came back a month after, said sorry, and tried it again. Friends can sometimes be your enemy, be aware.

This can easily be avoided if like you have a certian password/phrase to tell your friends to make sure you aren't a scammer in order to get the skins. So like if a scammer account askes something like, "yo i need skins" they can say "sure, what's the passphrase?" And boom avoided.

A clever thing some scammers are doing that I found out ago is putting the picture of a really expensive item showcase as your main screenshot. Also, I was 'hacked' not long ago, from signing into a website with an unofficial Steam login thing that looked very legitimate, so be careful, people.

Attemped scam on me: A guy said he won big (300$+) on a gambling site and he needed to deposit something. He told me that if I gave him 5$ he'd give me 20$ back. I was a little suspicious so I asked him for some screenshots. He took a screenshot with his "real" money from winning. I still didn't believe him so I asked him for a screenshot of all his wins and losses (bet history). The idiot didn't even change the money tab on that screen. On one screen he had 324,98$ and on the second one he had 0$. I talked to a mod from the site and got the scammer banned. Just a heads up for anyone that encounters someone like him.

Diddle, I troll scammers all the time and one time I came across the Middle Man scam and the middle man posed as my friend and I was about 3 seconds from falling for it but then I said " wait did you invite me to trade Spoopy ( spoopy=friend)" and he said no and I looked at the account inviting me and I was like "oh my fucking god". It was so funny that I caught him dude it was so funny.

They should add in player numbers on the profiles. Everyone gets a different number, that way you can check the number, see it’s incorrect and know it’s not the real person. It would take care of account copying. Or have it so you cant have the same username but can change your name to different things so two different things show up and can have the name you want while still having a username only for yourself to tell apart from copycat accounts. If that makes sense.

One time some guy tried to OPSkins scam me and failed, but I didnt really know what to do to troll them so I just kinda wasted their time, and I still know their discord but they probably made a new one. As soon as he asked to trade one of my knives (and I had no knives, my most expensive skin was a 50 dollar awp fever dream stattrak FN) that was an easy red flag for me that it might be a scammer. So for a while I acted like I didnt know what I was doing, but they caught on and blocked me. Still have the awp today.

And asked for skins saying that they'll stay in the inventory and he just needs to verify that it is over a hundred dollars and he can get his skins back. And then he said it was to verify on cs.money. but you don't need to verify on csmoney. So i knew it was a scam. Lmao almost fell for it. Someone actually tried this on me when I got my first knife, I am well cashed out by now and I didn't screenshot it, but the guy just asked to talk to one of my ''Good Friends'' so that was really sketch and then he said he wanted more people to trade with, so of course i gave him my friend with like nothing in his inventory and I did not know him at all. The scammer copied his profile and added me with the second account saying he accidentally un-added me and that his first account, the one I was talking too added him and should I trust him.
