I'll tell you how. first you lower your expectations on the finished product. after all, this is a video game we're making, and being a middle aged executive overseeing the project you've never played one in your life. next you rationalise everything with "kids play video games, I dangle keys in front of my kid all the time and he's amazed by it, we don't need to do much here." that's basically it.

Basically what ***** said, plus these bootleggers tend to steal/trace copyrighted characters (such as characters from Lion King and Bambi, as seen in this video) to try to look like they're worth something but they're not. They just want to make a profit without caring about the outcome.
