I remember payday 2 was pretty much the devs trying to self sabotage as much as possible, trying to add in things that would absolutely ruin the game itself, but due to the overwhelming fan backlash they took it out and the game became better. But then payday 3 came around and I don't know why people trusted the dev team that tried at every possible turn to crash into a wall but fans forced them to avoid it. I'll just wait a decade when the game is fixed and for $.99 plus all DLC

When I first saw the Payday 3 beta, I was immediately worried because I noticed that Payday 3 was taking itself way too seriously, dont get me wrong I like more serious shooters as well, but Payday 3 feels like it lacks the goofiness and shitposting that made me fall in love with Payday 2, I hope that they will ease up on the seriousness in future DLCs but I doubt it.

i think that if they wanted to do something more serious, why not bring back the Payday : The Heist and remaster it in it's new way? PD:TH was more serious than PD2 but actually did the darker part correctly (I mean that it doesn't feel out of place, a "everyone's against you remember?" type of way and made it feel it through gameplay and ambience), while PD3 is just modern shooter that take itself too seriously for what was happening.

The only good changes they did were, adding the individual weaknesses for specials, reintroducing the HRT/adding Sabotage Teams/have the AI use tactics (hiding behind Shields like SWAT should, the ability to close doors, and being able to pick up and move hostages. ESPECIALLY THAT LAST ONE, I may be new to the Payday games but, OH MY GOD I HATE MOVING HOSTAGES AROUND, and subdued guards are even more, cause you CAN’T move them around, so fuck you, guess we’ll start a domino affect of mistakes and bad luck fucking over your stealth bonus XP streak

The narrating gameplay like Shade was so on point. Glad to see more people seeing it the same way. To be honest I feel sorry for all the voice actors. The entirety of the dialogue is so consistently horrible I'm willing to bet it's all down to writing and direction rather than the voice actors themselves. Oh yeah and the tiny amount of lines for npc's and overconfident swat (with their what I can assume is about 5 voice lines in total) gets very exhausting very fast.

The lead guard's pathfinding is tied to your current objective. For example, in Dirty Ice, once you open the workshop, he will start pathing to and from the VIP Showroom. Another example is how he'll path atound the outside of the bank in No Rest For The Wicked once the vault is open. If you attempt to brute force the code on Touch The Sky, he will come investigate.

@@magicschoolbass he's a total pushover in a few heists like 99 Boxes, Touch The Sky, Rock The Cradle and Under the Surphaze. He is however a total pain in the ass on every other heist. Thankfully, the Cover Up skill bugs (or atleast intentionally made to bug) their infinite pagers, so he's the only time ever anyone will ever perform a takeout on any guard. PD3's stealth is clearly meant to be played with a minimum of 2 people, one masked and one unmasked, playing solo is just plain unfun, case in point being Touch The Sky requiring at least one unmasked player to be completed fully stealthy. There isn't even any reason to go for max loot since once you complete the challenge to get all loot, you don't get any extra exp per every extra bag over the required minimum, only cash. Truly, gaming has been saved

No you guessed wrong, I run any build I want on DSOD. Usually Sociopath and Gambler, you can be a meta slave, but there are a lot of unique builds and paths varying on your playstyle. Also Bayne was bad on launch, play literally any heist that is old he IS annoying. He got a lot better as the game went on. Also if you think DODGE is meta I laugh

@@magicschoolbass Maybe it's a matter of preference but i do think that P3 approach of perks being an addition to your already strong base kit is just better rather then the opposite how it is in P2. True, armor is king so 2 perks for twice the plate value let you comfortably compete on Overkill.

The overkill call in should have a option to call in the weapon or refresh your deployable. I think that would be a decent quality of life change that would reward you for going loud. Maybe balance it with destroying your existing one if it is too broken with turrets etc. Kinda stupid that the only real use for it at the moment is calling in the sniper to 2 shot the dozer. This would at least make it a trade off with what option you pick.

The biggest red flag to me (besides Starbreeze's past shady practices with pd2) was someone breaking NDA and releasing a video playing the pd3 non-public beta with Almir. I still have a downloaded copy of it before it naturally was nuked off KZbin a few days later. Because it has to be said, Starbreeze really blew out the female presence in Payday 3. I'm prepared to be the bad guy for this post, which is simply the cost of doing business when it comes to noticing DEI initiatives, particularly ones that nobody asked for. Why does Starbreeze care so much about injecting a sex balanced equity system into a game dominated by male players? I mean, for all of its genuine faults(not just the more grounded and realistic aspects in PD3 that were just thrown out the window in PD2. I find the game to be a huge step forward from PD2, you want a bombastic crazy goofy heisting game? Play PD2, you want a grounded more gritty take on Payday? Play PD3. Also complaining about the price makes no sense, 40 is almost half the price of most new games nowadays and even less than before the increase for full price games when it went from 60 to 70. I understand critisms of having a lack of weapon variety or even masks. Game is excessively overhated. Its not perfect but its also not awful. I think most people just wanted a goofy game like PD2 was again and when it wasnt everyone hated it.
