You’re taught that you only have value when you are being used by another person. I’m so glad I was able to grow out of it and find my own path. I will never have children and I thank god every day that I was able to get sterilized. I would rather help the community in my own way. I can make a way bigger difference in peoples lives with the job I have that I worked my ass off in grad school to get than I would if I had one biological child.

Then recently all these studies about unhappines start to show, and most notable is that women in America are more unhappy then men. On top of that there is hundreds of different women who release Tik Toks almost daily how they are not happy, where are the good man, why men don't approach women anymore and stuff like that. And when anger men sees that they start to celebrate and saying that thing like someone (they think feminism) trick women.

That speech had my very catholic parents and all their very catholic friends absolutely up in arms, because he spit in the face of two very major beliefs in catholicism : the dignity of the person, and the importance of the sacraments (including marriage). A group of sisters (nuns but actually not) wrote him a letter very politely saying "kick rocks" because he very much insulted every nun/woman religious on the fucking planet for not getting married. He also implies that marriage is the most important sacrament (big deal in catholicism) which would be kinda icky for a catholic to do about any sacrament, but even if he did, most catholics. If forced, would rank the eucharist at the highest because that belief is like... a defining feature of catholicism. ALSO, he's implying the whole "the Jews killed Jesus" which is NOT accurate to the Catholic teaching on the subject, which is that Jesus' death was a willing sacrifice on behalf of all of creation. (And also you won't go to jail for saying it anyway) In conclusion, bad man is also bad at Catholicism, his own damn religion. In conclusion 2: ChadChad should have interviewed my mom for this video because my mom is great and I love her and she's the best
@FrenkTheJoy3 ай бұрын
Idk why anyone even thinks the Jews killed Jesus. It's extremely clear in the Bible that the Sanhedrin were worried about Rome basically massacreing everyone in Jerusalem if Jesus got too popular, and it was ultimately Rome (through Pilate) that put a stop to him. Benedictine Catholicism is one of the least conservative types of Catholicism I've ever encountered too. I'm not Catholic but went to a Benedictine college right out of high school. I was able to get to know a couple of the sisters through a program the school did and they were extremely open about supporting women's rights. The whole deal with sisterhood is that they get to choose to do it and they can leave at any time too! One of the sisters was even in the process of leaving so she could get married to this guy she was dating and have a family with him. She had spent decades as a sister and didn't regret any of it. She just felt it was right to have a family now, even as an older woman. And everyone was happy for her and fully supportive too! It was the only Christian environment I've been in where they actively celebrated career women. Do I agree with all of their values? Absolutely not. But they were the least sexist bunch of Christians I've ever met.

For the record, the entire Catholic world was PISSED at this guy. The school had no idea he was going to say all that stuff and released a statement condemning it. And there were articles roasting him from OSV and other Catholic newspapers and media sites like that. (Source: am a Catholic woman who works for a Catholic newspaper.) The speech was insulting to average women, but it was an even bigger outrage to us Catholic working women who do a ton of work every day to give him all the things he thinks of as a modern Catholic life. We're in every diocesan office, every parish, every canon law office, every Catholic media producer, every campus ministry team, every Catholic hospital, every Catholic grade school, middle school, high school, college and university. Modern American Catholicism would COLLAPSE without working women, especially women with advanced degrees. The Church does NOT teach that women need to "get back in the kitchen." All the Church teaches is that parents need to decide, together, what's best for their child and family. Sometimes that's one or the other parent staying home, sometimes that's both parents working; sometimes that's having 10 kids, sometimes 5, sometimes 2. And it also doesn't teach that women need to get married; there are many many Catholic women who have intentionally chosen to remain single, even perpetually so. Mr. Butker must have forgotten about nuns. Also, he can shove his antisemitism where the sun doesn't shine.
@goingferalluvs3 ай бұрын
Yeah I don't know much about the Church even though I was raised Christian and even less about Catholics but I can from like one year in a Catholic school- I'd feel like women have every part in running the Church. "The biblical teaching of who killed Jesus could land you in jail" He alludes to The Antisemitism Awareness Act which passed on May 1st. This bill gives certain legal relevance to the IHRA's definition of antisemitism. One of the examples for antisemtic hate speech that the IHRA gives is: "Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis" Blaming Jews collectively for the killing of Jesus is a very old antisemitic/antijudaist stereotype that was very common in the middle ages. While obviously, Jewish people were involved in the death of Jesus, it is absurd to blame anyone other than the specific individuals who lived 2000 years ago of that deed. Not to mention that the actual crucifixion was carried out by the Romans. While on first glance this example could seem like it would prohibit stating that Jews were involved in the killing of Jesus, this is not what it says. They only consider it antisemitism if the claim of "Jews killing Jesus" is used "to characterize Israel or Israelis", i.e. doing exactly what I described above. EDIT: However, there are valid criticisms against the IHRA's definition due to it's unclear stance towards criticism against Israel. For example, it defines that the following two examples are antisemtic as well: - "Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis." - "Claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor." While both things certainly can often be antisemitic, it is also easy to see that valid criticisms might get caught up in this too.

Imagine needing to be qualified in order to tell orders what to do about something that requires expertise. Imagine your audience being educated enough to be able to filter and analyse the words you are speaking to them. Jesus was the biggest expert about God (being God himself and “those who see me, see the Father”) and he used that knowledge to bring the message as close as possible to people’s reality (analogies with farming animal, agriculture, social norms, laws, everyday occurrences, etc) so they could understand it. But some conservatives seem to try their best to make access to education and knowledge as restricted to their demographic as possible. And some of them call themselves Christians? A real follower of Christ wants everyone to have discernment and understanding of the things of Heaven and the things of Earth. That honours God and enables the church to do the will of God on Earth as part of the Kingdom of God. I’m saying all of this as a Christian that hates to see the good name of Jesus to be used to create the oppression Jesus died to set us free (so we could also be used to free others once we receive this freedom from Christ).

It's more that it's not typical to have a successful mom so it's better advice for mediocre people like you to stick with the tried and true method rather than pretend to be something you're not.

@@stop0p it's called throwing shades my guy don't be naive. Talking about "oh I'm sure you're looking forward for your jobs and promotions which is a lie you told yourself because obviously you'll be more excited to get married and have kids teehee! In fact my wife finally live a life after she married me xoxo" in an occasion where the main focus is celebrating the women's hardwork and dedication in education. @imdani4997 not women's hardwork you should say everyone's? Also I'm not naive but he's in a catholic school and I don't know why it's so shocking that he has catholic beliefs

The gag is. My life 100% ended after having kids. And people INCLUDING women treat you like kaka when you become a mom. Im only 30 and a girl 5 years younger called me “a miserable old hag whose husband isnt cutting it anymore” like absolutely gross. Women partake in this gross behavior too

That’s awful, I’m sorry! But you’re only 30, your life isn’t over. Some things just might be on pause for now.

That's insane. You're 30, not 75 and a crotchety old woman threatening people who step on her lawn. My life tentatively began the moment I divorced my first husband but it would only truly begin once my kids finished high school. Then I started taking care of myself and doing things for myself. I bought nice makeup, started using good skin products, and started a couple hobbies. I finally feel like my own person. It helps that my husband treats me as an equal so I don't feel like I have to facilitate his career. We just enjoy each other's company. The 23 year old is still at home, but it's not remotely the same. I've had long covid since last August and I still feel more alive than I did before the kids grew up.
