About the WW2 evacuee one: it's not outright a Halloween costume. Here in the UK we learn about evacuees in primary school, and we usually have a day where we dress as an evacuee. Not sure why but this *a thing* over here. Edit: I'm getting a lot of replies from people up north saying they never did this. It is, in all fairness, a southern thing. We were within range of German bombers, the north and the faraway countryside is where the evacuees fled to.

For the first one: When I was in primary school in year six (~ten years old) we were learning about ww2 and the blitz and all that, and throughout the week as we learnt my teacher would yell "airstrike! blitz!" and stuff at random points in lessons throughout the day and we would all have to crawl under our tables and hide for a minute to simulate what it would be like to be in school while the airstrikes were happening in the UK. Also, one day the whole class had to dress up as evacuees with gas mask boxes and old fashioned luggage bags with tags that had our names and information on, and our teacher walked the class to the local railway lines as if we were being sent off to the countryside from London. Looking back it was odd, but very interesting to learn about.

5:18 since nobody is commenting about this, back in 2016 or 2017 there was a dentist in Minnesota (I think) that would periodically travel to Africa to hunt big game animals, mostly lions. That one particular year he went on a hunting trip somewhere in Africa (I don't remember where) and long story short, the guy accidentally, or intentionally, as we will never truly know, traveled into an area of land that he wasn't allowed to hunt in, pretty sure it was an animal sanctuary btw, and shot and killed a massive lion that was basically super famous and considered a national treasure in the country that he had traveled to, and before he or anybody else involved could truly realize the gravity of the situation, the guy posted a picture of himself and the lion that he had just killed on social media. Needless to say, the people of the reservation and pretty much the entire country were pissed the fuck off that some rich white foreigner snuck onto land he had no business being on and killed one of their most important and beloved animals, and back in the United States it became a huge story due to the fact that this guy posted the lion that he killed on social media. It pretty much ruined his career and reputation, as I don't think he even practices dentistry anymore. So yeah, that costume is waaay worse that you think it is lmao.
