im an aspiring game dev and i can tell you that the ads are loading with 0 connectivity because mobile devs figured out people turn off connection so it downloads some ads ahead of time with the game. so youre correct, they are essentially baked into the game

There's a form of trauma therapy call EMDR that involves eye movement and desensitization. It seems to really work and no one really knows why. I would put my money on this being the reason video games help (if they actually do). It is missing a desensitization aspect though.

Like, cancer is horrible, but imagine if we just found out that to cure it all you had to do was drink a shot of olive oil or something equally mundane.
