Maybe a good monthly video could be "what not to buy". The Rare Beauty foundation was just OK. Not worth the price. The NYX palette was definitely a let down. Such a beautiful color story. The Wet N Wild 10 pan palettes I found to be OK. Not as bad as I thought they were going to be. I have only tried 1 but I will try the others and update on the Phelpers Facebook page. I think they would be fine to throw in a bag for a beach weekend or Disney weekend.

I don't understand why people get upset if you don't like a product they like. It happens ! They've had things like that happen to them. I absolutely hated the Elf putty primers. They did nothing for me. Oh well 🤷 thrive cosmetics tubing mascara didn't work for me. It is what it is !

Yeah I was disappointed w/ ELF putty primers as well. Idk what I was expecting, but definitely a miss for me. I've never tried their eyeshadows. I've barely tapped into ELF products.

I'm not sure what's going on with Wet n Wild but it's almost impossible to find it at my local Walmarts, Walgreens and CVS. It's come to the point where if I want any WnW products, I have to order them online (which is annoying)

I hear everyone talking about the maybelline cheek heat and how much they disliked them... I really enjoy mine for my natural makeup days, perfect with some bb cream and mascara 💜 I also am obsessed with my number 5 fenty snap shadow. And my fenty cream blush. Totally agree with you on the Maybelline Cheek Heat blushes, just awful disappeared on my cheeks and after a few days the texture felt strange. Covergirl has never been a brand that has worked for me, I tried those lid paints with a an eye primer because of my oily lids and it didn't blend good tried without primer same thing and just not worth the struggle. Wet n Wild is a brand that either comes out with a huge successful launch or a horrible one, and unfortunately this year is not a good one for them.

Yes! Covergirl is very hit and miss for me. Wet n Wild hasn't even appealed to me lately but these new palettes looked promising. Unfortunately they were so disappointing. 😥

I love hearing what didn't work out! I agree with the Cheek Heat, Fenty Snap Shadows, Milani Screen Queen and I'll add in the Huda Foundation Stick. I was excited to try it but it was too greasy on my oily skin and slid off. It was such a disappointment!

It's very disappointing the photos for the Tarte are so misleading... they're still up on their homepage too 😶 I also wanted to get it as I really liked how the shades looked! Cooler & mauvy shades would be a great addition if you have any other of the warm toned pallettes. It's actually a bit odd they don't have any of those shades in their pallettes...the Lil Juicy and the Sugar Rush pallette come closest

I absolutely love the new 5 pan wet n wild ones tested them today and it was amazing I used the camo-flaunt one and it is gorgeous blends like butter I used the wet n wild primer also I have a video going up in a couple days on them.. it can be different on different eyelids with different primers I love these way more than even the elf bite size ones

I actually really like the NYX Utopia palette! I agree about some of the shades being chunky, and I’m not a fan of those. But I don’t mind the powdery shades and they seem to stick okay to a primer. The greens in particular draw me in every time I use it!

The Maybelline cream blushes were such a disappointment! They'd just disappear after an hour of wear-time. And I don't think I've ever seen a positive review of the Fenty eyeshadows - it's the one area where that brand can't make a fantastic product.

Thank you for your honesty. Seriously, I completely agree with you about the Loreal Paris lip crayon. There are a few people I know that gave it such great reviews but when I tried it twice both shades were very hard to apply to my lips, honestly felt as if I was applying an actual wooden pencil to my lips and the color was not as intense as it looked in the tube. I definitely think the component is to blame, one of the shades popped out as soon as I opened the cap and fell onto the floor so I swatched it on my arm instead and looked for a similar shade in my collection to wear. I think there’s too much air in the top part of the component, which is causing the product to harden and shrink to the point that it breaks or falls out. Of course my opinion and yours are our own; the other people I saw using it continue to use it but my lips are definitely more sensitive and I think Loreal wanted to compete with Maybelline’s superstay lip crayons so it’s possibly that they rushed to release this formula. Such a letdown for me

I had the EXACT SAME issue with Cheek Heat! It took off my foundation and it was such a disappointment. It was the first liquid blush I tried and now I don't want to try anymore liquid blushes!

Aw I would recommend the Milani Cheek Kiss ones! Those didn't do that to me at all. They have a liquid and a cream formula and both dry down completely very fast (I would start with the cream one if you're concerned). ❤️

I got the pinky wet n wild palette and I actually love it, and normally I hate 95% of the eyeshadow I find in the drugstore, the actual drugstores, not affordable in general. But it was so cute and I had to have it. And I was pleasantly surprised by how well mine worked, blended well and the shimmers were a nice everyday shimmer and they lasted until the next day since my dumb ass fell asleep with makeup on.... its so weird that you has such a different experience with them..

I had to fast forward to your wnw review when I saw your thumbnail. That’s a shame the new formula is not an improved one. I had heard the formula before the last reformulation (the quads and 10 pans in the black packaging) was great and was hoping these new vegan ones would be back to that formula. Two disappointments for me were the Fenty cream blush I bought and the Elf bite size eyeshadow palettes I tried. The Fenty blush was gone so quickly I found that it wasn’t worth applying. (I’ve got many cream blushes from various companies so I have a range of experiences but this one is the worst I’ve tried.) the Elf shadows were great going on and really cute and fun to play with, but the pigments faded very quickly. I wondered if other people have a very different experience because these shadows have been so popular. Guess so. That’s the world of makeup, huh?

Can I suggest you do this quarterly so you can help us avoid the same pitfalls sooner? 🙏 I have to say on the Tarte palette, I’m not surprised because Ulta’s pictures are laughable. I’ve been so disappointed with their color representations dozens of times. Now on the Fenty blush and bronzer, I actually am in the camp of loving them. I adore the small packaging and with my elf precision stippling brush, they go on beautifully... but I’m not gentle with them. I stab the brush in there and move it around to warm the product, if I don’t do that = patch city😜

I dont know if you got a dud Utopia palette but I have that one and the Escape Artist from Nyx and they are SOOOO GOOD! Really pigmented and easy to blend with different textures to choose from. I was so surprised by this review. Just goes to show how opinions can differ so much 🤷‍♀️

I use a clean fluffy blending brush to blend the edge, a small detail brush or a pencil brush to apply eyeshadow at outer corner of my eyes, and a wet cut crease brush to apply shimmery on my eye lid. It is only way for me to make my eyeshadow not look muddy and patchy. I only purchased Camo-flaunt, Go Commando, and Walking on Eggshells. My favorite of the WetnWild 3 palettes is Camo-flaunt. However, I also hope WetnWild can bring back the old formula of coloricon.

I do like the fenty cream bronzer and blush but use a super light hand because like you I can’t stand any stickiness or removing my tinted moisturizer. Finger application also helps a ton. I love my older style wet n wild palettes. They are so pretty! I am sad the new ones are awful! I keep trying to make myself declutter the physicians formula liquid blush cause I had the same experience as you. I love hearing what you think!

I would really like you to do a look with just eyeshadow shades that is in everyone’s stash. Like I took this cool toned brown in the crease-or you can get a similar looks by putting any champagne shimmer you like all over the lid. That way we could recreate a look without having to go out and buy new makeup

OT - Thank you for recommending the Kokie eye pencils! You're right, they go on easily without pressing hard. I tried a Revlon that was supposed to be purple, but it was so hard and weirdly was mostly gun metal grey with only a hint of purple. I purchased the (Kokie) Eggplant color and it is so pretty! The price is great too!

Re the benefit palette the beauty news ladies did a makeup breakup on these palettes compared to the singles and it's a different formula. Seems the palettes have a inferior formula in them and often the colours were off...if I recall (vaguely) even the ingredient lists were different

I agree with you on the physician formula liquid blushes I got to because of a you tuber recommended it but I only used once is a crappy blush !

Looking back, I really didn’t buy that much this year. Of course being wrecked by the pandemic is one thing, but even pre-pandemic I was basically s*icidal for months sooo makeup hasn’t been a big deal to me. I also don’t wear it at home to feel “put together”, like I won’t wear nice shoes around the house. Especially when I’m depressed. I’m lucky I even have energy to change into different pajamas every day. During times when I had energy and wanted to use stuff, or had money and interest, I bought a few things that were singles or products I knew I would want or replacements. It was really not that much looking back. Depression and a pandemic and makeup burnout really changed my spending habits, lol. I am much more picky now and haven’t actually gotten anything I didn’t like by being that strict with myself, so I’m going to try to keep that same energy if the world doesn’t end.

The rare beauty foundation is my favorite foundation from this year, its fantastic on my super dry skin. I use a Marc Jacobs primer underneath and I’ve had great luck. I do apply mine with a brush I dont like applying it with a sponge. Their blushes are also fantastic on my skin type. IM crazy dry and these products were great for me. Sorry they didn’t work for you. ❤️

That Maneater palette 😄😄 I ordered it too, and the pics were awful, but since I never had the original palette, I kept it and I like it. But wow, was that ad pic ridiculous!

Yes!! If I didn't have like 57 palettes that look just like that one I would have been fine with it but I really thought it was more unique!

I ran a book website when the only comparables were fan sites. Over time this got better, but I have always said you can’t judge the good without the bad. If you won’t talk about the worst-or the “worst” grade you’ll ever give is a C, how can anyone trust you about the best? It’s less subjective with makeup because Mimi eyeshadow is Mimi eyeshadow, but I’m pretty much guaranteed to like Naked Heat less than Colourpop Baroque. 🥳
