Hi mate. The new LP copy that Trump is selling for a Gibson Custom price. Who makes it and where? You are the exact bloke to solve this mystery which Gibson will surely have to pursue.
@zeusapollo868810 сағат бұрын
I bet it was the mold for the epoxy repair
@bryonkidder619912 сағат бұрын
I don't know which was funnier about that SG, the repair or the price?... lol
@jrumiano10 сағат бұрын
$5K for that disaster??? Yeah right... Good luck even getting $1K for that POS.

Looks to me that the pelham SG was fixed by a plumber. That truss rod will never leak.
@Dragon_rls12 сағат бұрын
Yeah. With that green paint, I wouldn’t have even noticed if you didn’t mention it😂😂😂.
@StuStuT13 сағат бұрын
I'm thinking there might be some neck dive. lol
@achimdg63358 сағат бұрын
Ten to twelve minutes, that's my favourite duration of an episode. So I can easily watch before work and do all the other things I do before work.
@Dragon_rls12 сағат бұрын
They should use the “ Free to good home”, for that franken S.G.
@ethanhitchcock543112 сағат бұрын
Love the faded Pelham on that SG , the double creams look cool , then...then... the headstock ' repair ' looks like a metal grilled cheeze sandwich , it's a work of art ! Dig the modified 77' Melody Maker ! Thanks Trog !
@frankwebster911013 сағат бұрын
I wonder what the Murphy shop would charge for that kind of relicing on the franken SG. Which i would definitely play.

The 3rd eye Franken SG was sick..I wanna see Murphy Labs do a run of dark mods in the same vein😎..Thanks Trogly!

That's one half a cyclone fence coupler. Awesome
@vorpalblades11 сағат бұрын
Doesn't look like a coupler. The bends are all wonky. They usually have slotted holes and additional radius for the other fence sections. Probably just a mild steel plate.

Worst one I’ve seen on Reverb: someone selling a Reverend King Bolt but they took the six (yes six) screws out of the neck connection and put in long ZIP SCREWS complete with protruding bolt heads (making it a much more literal “bolt guitar”.) The seller claimed it made the neck connection “stronger”. As if 6 screws was not enough? My thinking is they somehow stripped out the original screw holes and only had zip screws.
@robertlowery558612 сағат бұрын
That SG is more rock-'n'-roll than ANYTHING in the Trogley museum.
@chris_271411 сағат бұрын
Other than that headstock "repair", that SG has a pretty sweet vibe going. Would definitely rock it, but not for $5k!
@clarkbabin979912 сағат бұрын
That brass knob looks like something from an old console stereo. If whoever was responsible for this handy work on that 65 SG thought about it they could've added more brass parts and called it steam punk. I don't think the Pelham blue is going to garner half of what they want. Having had to recover some seats like the bench seat in my boat I can tell you some of the arts and crafts stores carry that old cowhide look nawgahide or faux leather. No I didn't cover any guitar or my boat seats with that.
@SemNomeMorreYoutube4 сағат бұрын
best repair ever, deserves to be in a punk band, I haven't gotten to the price part yet, but whatever it is, double it.

From the classic "I can fix ANYTHING with duct tape" to a "I can just fix anything"... Sad

@jimmyjames202212 сағат бұрын
Poor SG Special. No wood glue or clamps available nearby, just lots of steel plate and bolts laying around? Maybe this repair was done out on an oil rig. Mines or remote construction camps still have carpenters. Likely cut/bruise your hand every time your down at the nut.
@professor_corrin93509 сағат бұрын
I'm genuinely kinda into the fish paul; don't know why but something about it speaks to me.
@BlockDefender11 сағат бұрын
Not gonna lie, I thought there was no way a repair would be worse than my les paul studio headstock break that I glued back on with missing chunks but wow
@robbnutter466512 сағат бұрын
This poor thing was a Halloween monster special for sure...I don't care if this SG was blue or not - I wouldn't give ya five bucks much less five grand!
@markjamesmeli252012 сағат бұрын
I wonder if Gibson ever thought to put a box of their own parts, enough to assemble a Paul or an SG, but not both, just to see what folks would come up with.
@terryoquinn819912 сағат бұрын
This did nothing but hurt my feelings ! Who does that kind of crap to a guitar ? 🎸. Or to anything for that matter . The “Pelham” blue with metal plates , front and rear for 5K is ridiculous ! If you buy that you need help .

He should, I mean it’s five grand I get it, but it would be a really fun thing to have, it’s got a gimmick, it’ll make people look, and if you want to be real cheeky he can put it in his museum as an example a repair jobs done wrong…

To me it’s a shame the finish yellows and changes the blue to green. Does Gibson use this clear coat with the intent of it yellowing? I’m sure there are other finishes that won’t yellow with age.
@bobbiejoe472613 сағат бұрын
Thats not the worst repair you have ever seen. It is an exaggerated statement on Gibson headstock construction. What you need to do to make sure your headstock does not snap!!
