Legends Arceus is the only (and I mean ONLY) Pokémon game that has allowed me to complete the Pokedex without getting another game/console or having to find someone to trade. The issue of Dexit isn't "not being able to catch every pokemon", that happened all the way back in RSE. @@luniveon The list of Pokemon trapped on Home is currently around 10: Spinda, Patrat and Watchog, the 3 elemental monkeys from Unova and their evolutions, and Furfrou. The list has slowly been whittled down, with each new major game release and dlc/expansion. Though I think the primary issue is not *always* being able to take out your favorite Pokemon from past games into the newest game. Up until Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, you theoretically could transfer almost any single Pokemon from as far back as Ruby and Sapphire to every other game in the same or later generations. If you had a team you really liked, you carry that team with you to every newest installment and use them in the Battle Frontier, Pokeathlon, Pokemon Contests, Battle Subway, online play, or whatever other new mode that game had with your old friends, but now.. unless your Pokemon happens to be supported by the latest game, they are trapped in the past, unless (or rather IF) a dlc/expansion comes out that adds support for that Pokemon. SV has had the greatest amount of Pokemon availability (compared to the number of total Pokemon) since USUM, with a total of 185 out of 1000+ Pokemon not allowed to exist in the game. Ideally, the next game would just support them all again, but that is doubtful.

You have Hyper Training to maximize IVs. You have Mints to change Natures. You have Mirror Herb to easily pass down Egg Moves without actually breeding a new lvl 1 mon. It's still somewhat tedious, but nowhere near as much as it used to be. Now yes, a lot of facilities in Battle Frontier weren't the best _(looking at you, Battle Palace :v),_ but I think the general idea is fine. Online battles sort of replaced it, but the two could easily co-exist. There's also the unfortunate issue of the ever decreasing attention span of people, which makes them less likely to engage with such a grindy part of the game. 9:04 Wait, so the biggest issue with Ruby and Sapphire is that.. it's hard to complete the national dex? Compared to the previous 2 complaints of general glitchiness and lack of polish, bad level curve and poor pokemon availability, I feel like this is such a minor nitpick that doesn't permeate through the game itself in the same way that the previous 2 complaints did. Not the overexposure of water types, the lack of balance with the starters (Mudkip is so overpowered compared to the other two options), the nonsensical story that wasn't properly resolved until Emerald, or lack of fixed learnsets (that still wasn't really fixed until gen 4) making certain pokemon like Gardevoir have insane natural level-up moves, while leaving so many other pokemon not even learning a move of their own types. I feel like these games got off a bit light, is all I'm saying. EDIT: 11:20 Wait what, you couldn't even come up with a single valid complaint for Emerald? How about champion Steven, one of the coolest champions in the series, alongside Cynthia and Lance, being replaced by... Wallace. The water type 8th gym leader. Who is otherwise unimportant, and completely irrelevant to the storyline. Even in Emerald, Steven does more than Wallace does, and Wallace's replacement for the 8th gym leader is even more forgotten about than Wallace himself. The Hoenn bias is strong with this one
@robertlupa827324 күн бұрын
Wallace is a pretty good champion... gameplay-wise that is and even then, it's only in a vacuum. His team is actually quite well put together for a mono Water team... but it's in a region that already has way too much water and like you've said, he replaced someone much more fitting for the champion role in terms of prominance in the story and just general "vibes".

Small nitpick: 9:57 Gold and Silver actually take place three years after Red and Blue! This was referencing IRL where Gold/Silver released three years after Red/Green. "While all the things I listed are minor, it definitely adds up." While that is true for gen 1 and people say that nowadays, they clearly didn't warrant an outcry back then. Guess they got a pass for being the first in the series. Definitely agree with your Gen 2 and 3 complaints. While I find completing the national Pokedex an issue in Gen 3, I found the idea of connecting all of them together pretty interesting, especially with that being one of the main points of Pokemon. The N64/GB era started it, and the GameCube/GBA era perfected it.

One thing I'd LOVE to see expanded upon that was somewhat mentioned in PKSV (The academy having trainers of all ages) is the ability to play as a different _age,_ and the age you pick changing up some of the dialogue/story beats as well as difficulty to suit an audience of that age. This way, Pokemon really *could* be for all ages. I think this could be an amazing thing that could bring together families who play Pokemon, AND appease fans who are tired of the 'this game is too easy' thing.

The worst part about Pokemon Sword and Sheild was not only the Dexit but the story was SOOOOO boring and the villain was weak. Hop was boring and too hyper and while it looked like we would get to know the gym leaders according to the trailers, it never delivered that. It didn't sound like a exciting doomsday that we had to stop and the DLCs sucked in the stories. I just played it for completing my pokedex a bit. Now despite the harsh bullying Violet and Scarlet gets, at least Violet and Scarlet had a exciting story revolving around paradoxes and stopping a actual threat. We had different stories to go on with different character developments, lot of people to get to know (with the teachers during the side quests and tests) and even heart strings being pulled. Picnicing and den raids with friends were good too. Violet was SOOO much fun! I hope Legends AZ will be fantastic as Violet and Scarlet were.

Eh, not really agreeing with the issues in SV. The most concerning and awful thing about it is... it not being a jrpg anymore. Like there's barely any story; it's more of three side quests you do because your "friends" kinda force you to. There's no routes, and no trainers force you into battles, so level progression is dead. And so are all the gyms/boss pokemon/team star that you can just stumble randomly in and either finish in seconds or get your butt handed to you. Main focus shifting to "exploration" and mindless Pokemon hunting + raids is literally peak braindead gameplay...

Pokemon has never been a JRPG. It's Japanese, and it's a Game, but there's no real oportunity for Role Playing.

Barely any story? Have you ever finished the game? Tried Arven's route? There's a story literally every single time you beat a Titan, tf.

@@herowither12354 I see you're one of those kind... Just for you: if RP is for "old school" role playing, then almost every game in the world is Role Playing since you assume the role of the characters like Link, Samus, Alucard or anyone really.

@@bugcatcherjacky1334 you could AT LEAST finish reading the sentence before rage posting: "there's barely any story; it's more of three side quests you do because your "friends" just force you to". Side quests about your friends ccan have their own stories, sure, but.. there's no OUR story. In 1 gen - WE jump out of the city to go on OUR adventure 2 gen - Elm give US a quest and tell uss that IF WE WANT we can battle gyms to get cool and strong popular character 3 gen - we go to wisit our dad who pretty much CALLANGES US to go get stronger and come back to him with all bages needed for his jym 4 gen - despite Barry annoyance and insistence WE ARE same dreamy fool who WANTS A POKEMON, so we can run around the region 5 gen - WE THREE EAGERLY WAITED for Juniper to gift us pokemon to leave for an adventure 6 gen - first time we are forced into the adventure btw, BUT MOM SETS US OFF to see new region we moved in for our sake 7 gen - first time it's barely our story, we given pokemon and set of... just because. It can be argued that both mom and Kukui wanted US to experience Alola but most of the story is about Lilie, Gladion, anyone but us 8 gen - similar to Sinnoh. Hop may be more of the "driving force" but we are eager idiot who wants to experience Galar and get pokemon from the champion himself. Story still mainly about US 9 gen - OK, so... we want to go to school. Director give us pokemon because it's required there. Nemona FORCES us to be HER rival. We study in school and when given "free roam assighment" that meant to hel uf "find our own path", it's not US who wants anything, it's NEMONA TELLING US to become a champion, Arven and Penny BEGGING us to HELP THEM and by the end we done... NOTHING FOR OURSELVES, NOTHING BECAUSE WE WANTED IT.

29:03 That's because it's not, regardless of what TPC says. The straightforward remakes, Let's Go and Legends Arceus are spinoffs and TPC's view on the matter can go to whatever bad afterlife you believe in.

I think what made X and Y so easy, also had a lot to do with the affection mechanic introduced in gen 6 as well... Just by investing a tiny bit of time and getting a pokemon to affection level 2, gives them an increased 20% EXP, and if you get a pokemon to affection 5 you get: 20% more EXP. 25% chance of enduring a fatal hit, even multiple times in the same battle. Chance to heal status effects for free during battle. Increase the miss rate of any opponent move not guaranteed to hit by 10%. Double their crit rate. So on top of the EXP-share being partywide now, every pokemon you get to level 5 affection gets INSANE buffs as well. So it felt like the first generation in the series MADE to make the player feel overpowered, since there's just so many ways to make your level 7 Pidgey so much stronger than a normal one, without them even seeing battle once!

Adding to X and Y being too easy, I think that was also the generation that fucked up the Exp all system.
@e94youtubeАй бұрын
SwSh, SV(Base game) were much easier
@e94youtubeАй бұрын
XY is hated for being easy. U can turn the Exp share off, Box the Lucario/Lucaronite & turn on the Battle Style Set mode, it's actually simple. Unlike SwSh where the exp share is forced & even worse in SV where they removed the set mode too But again I would say that XY were only considered as good games bcoz Megas, New artstyle & Trainer customization carried it. Post-game content, Missing Move tutors, Lack of Zygarde plot & most importantly only 3 ppl use Megas=Rival,Champion & Evil Team Boss Lysandre Also BDSP is still the worst game in the entire series, so that's a fun fact or a well known fact

How are BDSP worse than the original Diamond and Pearl? Like yes, Platinum is still better, but the remakes are absolutely better than the originals.
@LilyMaeBlossomАй бұрын
@@Lilithlily5 Lot easier to softlock yourself and essentially corrupt your save. Reason being it retained it's grid based world but utilized omni-directional movement due to gen 8 coding. There were also moves and abilities in the game that just didn't work, cause again. Weren't in the gen 8 coding. Then there was the drastic jump from Gym Leaders to E4 with perfect competitive mons. It was a lot of issues, multiple had to be patched out, the latter of the 3 dividing the community until eventually everyone just agreed BDSP are horrid games. DP had the excuse of being new and didn't destroy saves so easily it needed week 1 patching.

@@Lilithlily5 It's the worst game bcoz it's a copy pasted version of the Original DP with only some current Gen QoL mechanics unlike the other remakes which improve upon themselves/take risks like LGPE did. Heck BDSP's dev time was less than an year so obviously we had to accept this decade old Chibi artstyle which is a downgrade compared to ORAS,.LGPE

BW2 isn't a fair comparison to USUM, BW2 are sequels, not third versions, USUM are third version, which are aiming to do something completely different. A sequel is it's own thing, a third version is an enhancement of the story that's already there while fixing issues. like the big one for me, you can save much closer to getting your starter in USUM than SM, As someone who soft reset for a female Poplio that was a very appreciated change
