I'm more shocked that adding passengers makes the 0-60 quicker even though the car is AWD...the only explanation I can see is the AWD system is not properly tuned and doesn't know how to take advantage of the front grip as well as the rear grip. more weight cant improve acceleration unless it's more weight on driven wheels. let's say on a RWD , you add 10% of the total weight, but in the back m, resulting in 15% more weight on the rear wheels m, 15% more grip/wheel torque actually transfered to the road. but if AWD is properly implemented, AWD should always be quicker with less weight. I don't know how the torque is actually split, I've read that the torque split is continuously adjusted but even weirder, I'd expect the launch control to be more optimized for 2 people than 4. how often are you likely to drive your turbo S with 4 adults inside, and use launch control?? good thing is that it means there are still small improvements/performance gains to be made on the next gen. otherwise it's getting so close to perfect supercar+daily driver. it feels like hybridization/electrification will come at a good time when they have almost exhausted what they can do with the traditional design gas 911. pdk is already close to as good as it gets. straight line performance is insane. how far can you go with wheel size before it stops looking like a 911 or even a sports car I would have loved to see a lightweight non hybrid 911 with a boxer free valve engine. of you put 2 Koenigsegg TFG 2l inline 3 together, you have a stock 4l flat 6 1200hp engine, up to 1200Nm from 2000rpm or a even 600hp NA GT3 RS with turbos they could still donwsize to 3.0l ...and also WAY better mileage/emissions

At the age of 15, i started to race cars at slalom races with a Opel Corsa. The Car was built up and weight was around 1000KG + driver and it had 100hp. You might think now: Well it doesn't make a difference. Let me tell you something: When we were in training for races on the slalom courses and we had a beginner girl (~ 50KG) as a passenger to show her how to drive fast, the times dropped consistantly around !!!!!HALF A SECOND!!!!! Do a video showing the effect of heavier or lighter ROTATING MASS. Meaning the effect of heavier or lighter road wheels. Also bigger or smaller brake discs. The 0-60 times would be interesting. Rotating mass makes a bigger difference than people realise/expect.

I think launching the car from the back seat then moving to front to crash stop would be the best of both worlds.

When calculating the factory weight of the vehicles, 75kg of the driver, full tank of gasoline and a bag weight are included. Adding driver weight is wrong.

These cars are equipped with alot of things we are not told like altimeters and load sensors which adjust the power output without telling you. So performance is determined but more than just a sticky track.

I didn't expect the mpg to change much because your speed was constant. Fuel economy is affected by weight when speeding up. There's more mass to accelerate which requires more energy than accelerating a lighter car.

i think the biggest takeaway here is that weight doesnt matter as much as WHERE you put that weight. Balance is everything

The 911 Turbo S will always be the best daily supercar....and they 100% ARE proper supercars now. Getting almost 34mpg while being able to run a 10.1 sec 1/4 mile is incredible engineering. This car just keeps on amazing me.

Disappointed. How come you didn't test it with no one in the car? How full was the gas tank? Were the brakes worn out? Did you have the car clayed recently? How many miles are on the car? Can you verify that the friends in the back didn't take extra items to sabotage the experiment? Why did you use sand bags and not a metal cube? Why didn't you use a ballast in the rear? Why didn't you put someone in the front trunk? Was it wet out? How hot was it? What elevation were you testing this at? Was the road grade 0%? Did you give adequate cooling time for the turbos? How long in-between runs? Did you have the spoiler manual down or up? Was there any cross winds or head wind? Can you verify the road was clean and dirt free with no loose materials? When's the last time you blew out the air filter? Did you have the A/C on? Did you have the blower motor on? What octane fuel were you using? What was the exact weight of the car distributed on all 4 corners? Why did you only do 1 test of each? Would you go back again and retry all this? Besides all these questions, I think it was a decent comparison, but was a bit rushed. 7.3/10

It's amazing how that Porsche 911 Turbo S handled 400kg of more weight without any problem!
