My ex didn't call me lazy but he did come home and said "this house is filthy!". I didn't respond. I just showed him what filthy was by not cleaning period. The ironic part is, when the house finally became filthy after no cleaning, he never claimed the house was filthy. This let me know it was all about control. He thought that by him saying the house was filthy, I would jump up and reclean the house.

I had my stuff packed and I mean every item within 2 hrs. He apologized real quick when he saw that.

It's because we have matured and TALK to each other when we have issues. My wife is blessed and lucky to have a husband who wakes up at 3:30 in the morning to get ready for work, prepare breakfast and lunches for my wife and 2 daughters, sometimes give my younger daughter showers, wash the dishes and lunch containers because we carpool and had to leave early to beat the traffic . Most of the time I would clean the kitchen sink and stove, mop floors, take out trash, fold the clothes, etc.

I've been in a similar experience. The other day my sister called me the laziest person she knows and that not everything revolves around me, all because I asked her to move her laundry from the dryer since I needed the dryer, and she didn't like anyone else touching her laundry. I get up every day around 5:30 am and take her and my other sister to the bus stop - or school - everyday, then drive over an hour up and back to get to college. Out of the three of us, I appear to be the only one who does their laundry. Another time, when my parents were away for half a week, she was insistent that all of take part in doing dishes. That night, I did two or three loads of dishes, I never saw how many my other sister did, and she only washed the dishes that she had just used to make herself dinner. I was just upset by her deliberate gaslighting. I do get what he's saying here, unless you're dealing with a woman - or more importantly anyone - who is lazy. The more important lesson I got here is not to call anyone lazy when you are even lazier than them.
